Love this Peakeep alarm clock. It is a nice size at 3-5/8 x 3-5/8 x 1-5/8 inches. It is heavy with the two AA batteries at 9 oz, about the weight of a can of Campbells alphabet soup. It's keeping the correct time just fine for the 4 days it's been on. Even if the time drifts a bit, which it has not yet, I don't care since I'm willing to set the exact time now and then since it's so easy to do it. To set the alarm time, just turn the knob on the back. To set the current time pull the knob out and turn it. Very easy to do either one. The sweep second hand spins smoothly and continuously. There's no ticking sound at all to bother light sleepers.The alarm is loud with a lower frequency melody which I like since I have high frequency hearing loss. Guaranteed to wake anyone up when the alarm goes off which is super important to me, especially if I'm using the alarm clock to wake up to catch a flight. Aside from using it at home, we plan to use it as a backup to the hotel "phone wake up call" on our trips.When the alarm goes off, press the large snooze bar on the top to have the alarm go off again in 5 minutes. Pressing the snooze bar on top at anytime also lights up the numbers and bars on the clock's face, but the hands are a bit hard to see in the dark since the hands don't light up. When the alarm on/off switch is turned to the off position, there's a cute voice that says "Good Morning!" which brings a smile to start the day.We love this clock so much, we plan to buy more to give as gifts. We're sure the recipients will love it as much as we do.

I bought this for my 90-year-old mother because I was tired of having to wake up on days I'm off to call her on her loud landline phone to wake her up at 6 am for appointments. This clock is extremely loud but in a DESIRABLE WAY! It plays old songs like Moon River and a number of others loudly sort of like the ice cream trucks that come through neighborhoods do. It is so loud in its charming way that when I am visiting her I can slightly hear it in other rooms if I am awake. It has the snooze feature; once you finally turn it off, it even says "Good Morning!" to you. AND very importantly it is EASY TO SET, very plain like all clocks used to be - she has no trouble changing the settings even with crippled hands. Time numbers are easy to read. An additional feature is that it is BEAUTIFUL - has sort of a modernistic reflective blue rim on the edge of the dial - much prettier than shown. I liked it so much I bought more to give as gifts. (By the way, I ordered several different loud alarm clocks, and THIS ONE was the winner - returned others.)

Great alarm clock. Part of the problem with most of the new alarm clocks is that the beeping is at such a high frequency I cannot hear it. Like many guys, my ability to hear high frequencies diminished as I got older. I didn't need a louder alarm - I needed one that could be heard by me, not by only dogs and people under 20.This is plenty loud and has varying tunes and a flashing blue light. The clock is a little larger than expected. The silent (well, to me) sweep-second hand is unique - no stepping - just smooth like the old electric clocks that plugged into the wall. Pretty rare.You can press on the bar atop the clock to give you a blue light to illuminate the dial during the night and that's required as I don't see the hands being the "glow in the dark" types.No idea on battery life yet but it said to replace the batteries every 3 or 4 months. That seems quite frequently, but we'll see how it goes.I'm pleased with the clock as it is finally one I can hear. The tunes are a bit corny but any varying pitch noise is fine with me.

I am hard of hearing and I was very happy with this clock so much so that when the first gave me a problem with the alarm not alway going off as expected but 12 hours later! I bought a second because I liked the size, style, and the fact that it was loud enough that, when it rang I would be able to hear it. I tried to use both at the same time to try to figure out why I was having difficulty setting it. There was nothing to indicate AM or PM. I also have had the experience as noted in some of the reviews that I could not shut it off and had to take the batteries out to do so! It only happened occasionally. I really liked waking up to a melody, albeit a loud one and also liked the color and functionality of the blue light. I finally decided that one of the clocks worked better the another so I discarded the one and tried to use the other. I have just made arrangements to return the second though at a financial loss because I contacted Amazon after the time limit. They said I could then order another if I wished. I spent time going through the reviews tonight and learned for thr first time that it was a 12 hour clock! That would explain the difficulty I had on some occasions with it going off 12 hours after I had reset it, for instance when I tried to reset it so I could sleep an hour longer! I have always used it with 1 or 2 backup alarms. Recently, I didn’t have a backup and had to depend on this one alone. It did not work! Went off at 7PM rather then 7 AM! That was it! The instructions do not mention anything about it being a “12 hour clock! If that is the problem, there no instructions as to how to reset it if one wants to get one or two hours more sleep! I know it sounds crazy but I really liked this clock. I am toying with the idea of trying to work with it to see how to cycle it. One reviewer said that she had to set it after 10 PM so it would ring at the correct time for her mother to get up in the morning. I wish the instructions were more explicit. I went on line to buy a new clock tonight. Will probably give this a try for a couple of nights more before I give up. I hope my frustration and confusion will be a help to some one else and save them some time and frustration. It really is a great clock. I know that’s not logical since it has not been reliable for me in it’s primary function - just a reliable alarm clock, I guess I should write that it has the potential to be a great little clock.
