Great 20-40 minute skirmish game
Rules - 4Gameplay - 5Play Time - 5Replayability - 5Cobble & Fog detailed belowI have always enjoyed Dice Throne for a quick skirmish game but having now played several games of Unmatched - Cobble & Fog, I think I have found an even better game that scratches that itch. While Dice Throne is super easy for new players to get into, I think the Unmatched series is even better. Each big box includes 3-4 characters and a large 2-sided game board. The rules are quick and clear. Simply choose 2 of the 3 available options on your turn (yes, you can do the same option twice).- Movement - Draw a card (required) move your fighter (optional)- Play a scheme card- Attack your opponentYou win the game by bringing your opponents fighter down to 0 health.Unfortunately, the sidekicks is not explained very well in the game. For clarity, during the movement phase your hero and each of your sidekicks may move. You still only draw one card at the beginning of the movement phase. During the attack phase you may only attack with either your hero or one of your sidekicks. The game play time listed is 20-40 minutes and we found that to be accurate. The replayability of this game series is off the charts since the unmatched game series is designed so that any character from any expansion can be played against the others. If you enjoy games where you battle your opponent using skill and cunning, and less luck, than you will find any of the Unmatched games a great option.Cobble & Fog version of UnmatchedIncludes:Dracula can deal heavy hit damage on his own and using hypnosis he is quite the opponent. He also comes with the 3 sisters for sidekicks which he can bring back from the dead.Sherlock Holmes is cunning and using his ability to look at your hand of cards is a very thematic way of simulating his deductive reasoning skills. Using Dr. Watsons medical (healing) and military skills (ranged attack) can be very useful. The Invisible Man makes use of his 3 fog tokens instead of sidekicks. He can move from fog to fog with ease which allows him to appear out of thin air. attack, then disappear again. The multiple personalities of Jekyll and Hyde are used to good effect in this set. While Dr. Jekyll uses his healing powers to keep his health points up, Mr. Hyde is pure evil and deals out extreme damage to his opponent, and sometimes to himself. Though you can change forms at will you may also be forced to change based on your card effects. Just don't stay in Mr. Hyde form too long since you'll receive 1 point of damage after you maneuver. Being Evil has a price.

Best 1v1 quick boardgame experience
I have played many games, i love heavy euros even if they take 6 hours, but they can be hard to get to the table and introduce to new people.Unmatched is perfect in game length, it doesn't feel like it ends up too quickly neither does it drag too long, it's a quick 1v1 skirmish game (it replaced Mythic Battles Pantheon for me, just because its simpler, so quick to set up and it will see much more play)The game may feel too simple at first, until you familiarize yourself with how each character plays, their strengths and how to use them. Also while the combat is "just using a card" there is a lot of Mind games behind that. A well placed Deny can negate a very powerful card from your enemy, you can bait the use of good cards by playing bad cards, or just play a very strong one they cannot deal with.Cobble and Fog is a great entry to the game, 4 different decks add a good replayability, and convinced me to get 6 more heroes, because the game system is just great

One of my best!
Have several expansion - love it. Simple to teach, fun to play.Tip: stick to one character to learn the deck and their strategies better.

Fantastic Addition to the UnMatched collection
I started with Robinhood VS Bigfoot and soon HAD to have the rest of the UnMatched sets. This is a FANTASTIC stand alone set! I would not recommend this be your first set if you're learning UnMatched. (I'd recommend starting with Robinhood VS Bigfoot OR the LEGENDS's 4-player set as they are more straight-forward)What makes Cobble & Fog a MUST have is the diversity (and yet fantastic balance) to each of the 4 characters included. After nearly 40 matches, I've found that there is a NICE balance between characters in this set.5/5 for design, fun, experience, and new character balance & experience.

Fun quick card game with low maintenance
The game is pretty fun and comes with 4 decks, with each character having a unique style.Holmes - Has several prediction cards where if you can guess a value, opponent has to discard one card of that value.Jekyll & Hyde - Transformation based cards - very cool.Dracula - Mind Control/mental challenge based cards that can reduce values of attacks/defense.Invisible Man - Fog mechanic with great movement abilityEach one has the same amount of cards, and there are health dials. There is also a map for unit movement which I really didn't see much use for. You can perform 2 actions a turn, move and attack, or 2x attack, and etc. However, often time most of the cards are melee oriented so to attack you need to be adjacent to your opponent. Therefore even though you can move around the board, unless your character has ranged attacks (Holmes has 2x) - you'll really just be remaining adjacent.Overall a fun and very quick game - not as in depth or complex as a traditional TCG. There are no additional cards to be added as well. Only new character decks from other Unmatched games.

Love this game
We own all of the unmatched games and this one really may be the best. And the series is really good. The players feel more even than the other 4 character set. The board with the secret doors and streets of London also plays better. And the fact that all the characters did actual coexist (at least in their authors imaginations) at the same time and possibly in London makes it feel tighter of a game and more thrilling. Love that Sherlock really utilizes the lightning cards. The Invisible mans fog is fun. Really awesome game.

Who would win in a fight
I have so much fun with this. The variation of play and combos really make this endless joy. The idea that I can pit Sherlock Holmes versus big foot is the thing of childhood recess banter (who would win in a fight...).The components are fantastic for the price and the art on the cards is so immersive. If you want a light combat game for the family this one is a no brained!
