My daughter and I wanted to make macarons. This was convenient because it had the items I didn't have bundled in one set. The silpats are nice and thick. I put parchment paper over them and you can still easily see the template through the paper. It is Ok to bake right on them, but I like the crust of the cookie better on parchment paper and it is easier to get the cookie off. The largest sized piping tip was not ideal for piping macarons due to the triangular design. I ended up ordering the Wilton #12 and that works far better. Tips are otherwise fine for cake decorating. The piping bags are quite durable, but I prefer the disposable variety. Overall though, my daughter and I enjoyed the kit and since there was duplicates of everything I was able to send a set home with her.

Love the mats! I baked a couple of times on them but i like parchment paper better - for my oven. I use them under to pipe and shake out bubbles then transfer to pan w parchment only.I like the piping tips, but for this being a macaron set, there isn't a piping tip for doing the macaron batter. Only about 4-6 for filling them with. I dont use the bags. Too stretchy and awkward.

Easy to use mats and measurement is enough spaces. Make sure you note on the size of the mat to get same size or bigger tray to fit it in.
