Just in time!
I saw a freeze warning in the forecast (over a week after the last frost date) and ordered these to cover my planters with tomato cages. As you can see they just covered the cage with enough height to grab the upper lip on the planters. I know it was below freezing as a cup of water I left out had ice on it but the plants I covered looked as fresh as the day before. After nursing these plants through the winter in grow tents I didn't want to lose them to a late frost. Fortunately, there are no days near freezing in the forecast so I probably won't need these until the fall. They were easy to install. The slider to cinch the cord along the bottom is really weak but was sufficient for its purpose since there wasn't much wind. I'll probably replace those just for a little added security.

Working so far very well
Bought these to put over my young bamboo plants while they get established over their first winter and slipped them over bamboo stakes that I wrapped the ends in masking tape to avoid punching holes. They've since seen two heavy snows, some heavy wind, and a LOT of rain in their first winter, but they've not moved or sagged with heavy, wet snow sitting on them.Even if my bamboo doesn't survive the winter, it won't be the fault of these covers!

too Much tearing, but these are pretty great
These agg fabrics in general tear open and are sometimes reusable. However not this big one. The big one tears and then it is going to need a way to patch it back together. We used clothes line clips and pins in addition to duct tape. But the whole thing eventually tore wide open from high winds. To hold them down we were using a stake to the ground to hold the line, and a wood pile for extra weight. For the littler fabrics we ordered, we have been reusing them year after year. They might look a little ugly by the second year, but we found that the holes weren’t actually too bad, and actually added some nice breathing room. We had several good ones that we used on the border of a fence, and dogs can reach through and they love to get them and tear agg fabrics up into tiny pieces. So our recommendation is these things could be tougher against tearing, and just don’t place them near dogs. And definitely buy clothes line pins and clips. Have been putting Christmas lights around these for stone fruit trees in winter, and to protect herbs like peppermint and mint.

Only last one season before tearing
These are very convenient and easy to place over trees compared to square bedsheets which can only cover very small trees due to shape. Unfortunately they're a very thin, fragile material that tears easily in the wind and now the price has increased significantly. $30 for something that lasts 3 months before getting ripped to shreds by 15-20 mph winds just isn't a very good value. I would gladly pay twice as much for a bedsheet-type material that would last several years if it were offered. By the way, don't use the drawstrings like in the picture where it's tight against the trunk. Unlike mammals, plants don't produce any appreciable amount of heat so it doesn't do much good to wrap a tree that way. You want to cover the entire tree and spread the bottom out as wide as you can touching the ground to trap as much heat as possible from the ground.

So disappointed.
I liked the size. But it destroyed my plant that I covered for 10 years with another cover. The plant got too big and ordered this brand. No air. Plant looks it has mold on leaves. The wind just happened to blow it off after 2 1/2 months. This is was I found. Obviously not breathable. This is weather in northwest South Carolina. So very disappointed,

order the exact size you need
I had ordered much taller than I needed, possibly thining that when they matured I would definitely be using them - they seem to have worked as al the leaves have come off both cherry trees - I've checked the scratch test and they are very much alive - so they do keep them much warmer - I had watched these same species die within a week of the temp dropping down to 30 degrees. So hopefully they will start budding again - I;ve still go them wrapped til the nightime tems get back into the hight 40's .

really works
This is my second purchase of this product. Have used it to protect my rosemary, immortelle and aloe plants through the winter. It works.
