cat woman/super-girl meet an FBI in steroids....
let's start by facts.... calling a Walther PPK "a british gun"? unless being the favourite handgun for James Bond qualifies to be called "british gun", this is a gross lack of basic research....- and there are no such things as "british guns" anyhow.... - I expected something more serious... - the heroine is a combination of cat woman and super girl.... really, the only thing lacking was her ability to fly.... - the FBI agents? best shots ever with a hand gun.... - they were shooting the bad guys with handguns through Piazza San Marcos.... not even a trained sharp shooter from special forces may dare to claim half their prowesses, even with a hunting rifle.... I hope these ladies do not try to write a sequel... it would really be a waste of time... -When I bought this book I was looking for something different, to relax from too much historical novels... I got my share :-DAs I was not looking for a serious book, and the book is not that badly written, are the sole reasons I did not gave it two stars... for the rest, these ladies should stick to some other genres. Modern action is not their cup of tea... really.

Fast-paced fun, with a few forgivable flaws
I enjoy the collaboration between Coulter and Ellison, and _Devil's Triangle_ is good fun. However, the fast-paced story is more rushed than their norm. There are several interesting premises set in motion, though none feel completely developed, as if there were simply too many ideas to juggle. I also agree with another reviewer that these premises are highly improbable - so be prepared to suspend your disbelief. The unusual number of typos were distracting. There were almost too many characters thrown in, so many felt like caricatures. Some more judicious editing should be considered in future. Despite these issues, it was a fast-paced read, good for some relaxing downtime.

Too OTT
This is my second try at reading this book. The first attempt had me so mad, I shelved the book during its release week. Until now, I have enjoyed the Brit in the FBI series. Master thief Kitsune always entertains with her mad skills and effortless authority evading, while Agents Michaela ‘Mike’ Caine and Nicholas Drummond give chase and stymie the brain with their detective work. Drummond and Caine have had a couple of colorful cases, intermingling obvious chemistry and witty conversations, except I couldn’t find the same thing here! I’d swear somebody else wrote this story because nothing jived with the earlier books! The conversations were unbelievably stilted, the case they were working on (involving Tesla’s Coil and the Ark of the Covenant) required quite the stretch of imagination, and then there were the really evil, calculating twins....I feel like I’ve just read crossover episodes of The Librarian, Indiana Jones, and a cheesy horror flick and am feeling very disappointed! I like this series a lot and hope things get better in the Sixth Day.

Totally let me down.
Very first time I've been vastly disappointed in a book by Catherine Coulter. I love the Nicholas and Mike characters, but the plot in this book is totally unbelievable and too far fetched for anyone to believe. I found myself bored throughout the book at the slow pace of the book and with each new twist in the story line becoming even more unbelievable, I was tempted to stop reading. I finished the book to justify the expense, but I won't be quick to purchase another J. T. Ellison collaboration.

I love Catherine Coulter
I love Catherine Coulter, and I have read and enjoyed all of the Brit in the FBI books. This one was a little far fetched for my taste. If you are able to overlook the fact that it has no basis in reality, it is a good read. I had a lot of trouble with the poor editing, however. At one point, the bad guys are flying a plane to go to the island.. and then when we come back to them, they are in a boat because there was not enough room in the plane. I have a hard time getting past such obvious goofs. I have read better.

Not up to her usual standard
The search for the ark of the covenant is old news. The characters were artificial and she has written so much better.

Disappointed
I've always liked Coulter but her characters weren't credible and the storyline was appalling.
