This product is definitely worth the money it transported my kayak safely and effectively, only I bought it to use on my own and I hadn't considered that I was not tall/nor strong enough to lift my kayak up onto them alone. Haha whoops so I gifted it to my taller more capable friend🤷

Not really meant for a kayak but they work. Straps that come with it are very narrow and the clasp doesn’t hold very well. Instead I use ratchet straps to hold everything in place. The foam blocks do stay in place.

My roof rack bars shape like water drops, one side round and one side sharp. So I was worried that this sponge would not fit to the bars. But this sponge was flexible enough to squash in to the bars.And its upside shaped just perfect to my Hobbie quest 13.Installation wasn't that easy because I had to unscrew the roof bars to get the sponge on, and then get the bars screwed again. I don't know how long will it endure in the outside condition but by far I love it.

It’s a foam block with two straps and two cords. So far so good but one cord started ripping even before use. Returning it though the straps and foam block seem fine.

I purchased this for my father-in-law to bring his kayak around. His Honda CRV does not have roof rack bars, so we looked up a bunch of YouTube videos and chose this one.He was able to bring his kayak down to South Carolina from NY on the highway with no issues on the way down or back up. Ease of use could definitely have been better, or some sort of printed instructions as we were adlibbing for most of the set up.We bought additional tie down straps to help for greater security as well.

I think this is actually a decent deal for the money. Cheapest I found and doesn’t feel too terribly fragile, though obviously you do get what you pay for to some extent. Was pleased to find one of the pads fit on my Subaru aero cross bars which are around 2.5” across, unfortunately the second has a different channel design and doesn’t work. If I was just using these flat in my roof they’d be ok, but since I wanted them to go on my crossbars they obviously aren’t useful for my needs. Not sure if they’re all like this or I just got a mismatched pair. Something to keep in mind.

This might work if you use the pads sparingly or for a once and done trip. Not made for those who plan to consistently use it to haul a kayak. I had to return it and get a refund. I needed something much more durable than this.
