An intelligent toy!
This is a great toy - I got it for my grandson's fourth birthday and he loves it. He does need adult help with it right now, but I'm confident that he'll soon be able to make his own creations with it. It is for 5+ years but my little guy is a builder and he already fully understands the concepts. I anticipate expanding on this in the future as it is the kind of toy that a kid can play with independently and learn from.

Not that fun
A bit confusing. My son loved watching his dad build it but then got bored and didn’t actually play with it after. Personally I wouldn’t recommend but that’s just from our experience

Brilliant STEM building set ... good quality and great fun.
Learning Resources never fail to impress me with their range of products and this amazing robot building set is another fantastic product ... this time for ages five and over. It is a decent sized set containing 112 pieces and an instruction booklet. Included in this STEM building set are gears, treads, wheels, eyes and more, all pieces are brightly coloured. This being a STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) set really helps your child get to grips with improving their skills in this area of learning as well as increasing their imagination. The booklet shows how to build three different robots step by step ... though of course there is nothing better than letting your child's imagination run away with itself. My six year old granddaughter has been having loads of fun with this set and to be honest so have I ... we've been taking it in turns to build many weird and wonderful robots. This set is really great fun as well as being educational. The pieces are robust and well made and although it may seem a bit pricey at £35 ... I think it's well worth the money.Highly recommended.

Absolute ripoff... but a great toy
If I spent the equivalent money on Lego it would take my 7year old around 60 mins to make and this set was made in 20 minsPlus a lego set at this price would handle being played with but the robot, which my son made first, kept falling apartAnd as soon as we opened the box, although the product pieces are well made, I imagine the pieces were sourced for around a quid from ChinaWithout the acronym STEM this set would be worth around £15-£20 and be great value. With the acronym STEM they are sliding into my bank account making me feel like good about myself buying something educational for my kid whilst on the other hand robbing me of a months supply of beer money

Lovely STEM-based robot building set for over 5s
I love this Robots in Motion Building Set for ages 5 plus, which arrives in a large cardboard box covered in cellophane. It has 116 pieces and the aim is to build your own robot, which develops a child's critical thinking and fine motor skills. The set includes a leaflet which has picture instructions on how to build three robots and you can go to the Learning Resources website for directions on how to make others, although you can go rogue and build one or more of your own imagination. This is a good STEM-based project and will show a child how gears turn, pulleys lift and robots move. The pieces are all large and robust, and look like they will stand the test of time (being built and rebuilt many times). I am pleased with this product and think the price point of around £35 is reasonable for the quality and educational value of this product. I am happy to recommend.
