I don't write a lot of reviews, but I was really happy with this filing cabinet/shelf. I tend to research my purchases to an extreme degree. I want to look at prices, quality, product reviews, both awesome and awful, all of it. This purchase was no different. I was afraid of what I would get based on some of the reviews I read for this and other filing cabinets. Based on the cost (~$130) I knew I was getting particle board. That's fine. I don't have $700 to spend on a filing cabinet. The materials used are quality. All the little cams and other fasteners were obviously not just the bottom of the barrel that some companies include with their products. One thing I really appreciated was that they included an extra piece for each fastener type. If the instructions said I should have 8 screws, there were 9, on every. single. fastener item. That's HUGE in my book. Even the little finish tabs they include to cover the screws were higher quality than I usually see. They felt more like plastic than paper, and the adhesive stuck firmly.The instructions say not to put anything heavy on top, but I wanted to stack another shelf I have in a similar finish on top of it. To test, I sat on top of it, jiggled around and did some seated hops. I'm about 300 lbs, and it didn't even feel close to breaking or anything. We'll see how it lasts long-term, but for $130, I couldn't be happier with my purchase.

While I really like this I must say the assembly is really, really difficult, for me. So many parts, some of which could have been put together before sending out. This took me about 4 hours over two days. However, its a really nice piece of work, exactly what I wanted. Extrremely sturdy. I put a heavy color laser printer on top. If you are not mechanically inclined, choose the extra assembly option on amazon.

Well made, sturdy, moderately easy but quit time consuming assembly ( 4+ hours). Fast shipping from Amazon. All extra parts, nothing missing. Looks good, no scratches, well packed. Only complaint was no feet provided for hardwood floors. Bought and installed nylon feet from HD. Also, the small stud locks bent when tightening to the studs however they remained locked regardless of them bending. They need to be made out of Stainless Steel or some harder metal. Instructions were fairly explanatory but it helps to be mechanically inclined. Still, you must pay careful attention to what you are doing. The studs can be easily stripped out or mounted crooked if not careful and as well not to over tighten the stud locks. The drawer rolls well but was a pain to install by one's self. Overall, I'm satisfied with this cabinet. I'd say $25 overpriced, though.

I needed an extra file drawer and a good surface for my printer and this cabinet fit the requirements. The directions were actually pretty clear in comparison to other furniture I have put together. It feels sturdy and the cherry color blends nicely with my other office furniture. For the price, it is well worth it.

Bought for Office Manager’s office and it is a perfect fit and functional in the office.

I received the file cabinet from my daughter for Christmas. I love it. I have plenty of room for all my business files and office supplies. My printer fits perfectly on top. I have everything I need, all in one place.

Not easy to put together drawer hardware to slide into unit. Once together, we love it.

Once I stopped following the assembly instructions it went fairly smooth.The drawer slides installation guide is a joke as one section of the slide does not match the diagram. The positioning in the diagram is accurate, but there is no way to put one of the screws in where the have it marked. I eventually was able to get it lined up at the end of assembly. They do provide plenty of extra screws for the door slider. Which you will need if you plan on getting it level!If you want to punish someone in your life, buy this and ask them to assemble for you. Be prepared they may never help you again. Heck they may never talk to you again.
