Very educative book! Learned so much!
I believe that I learned a great deal from this book. It was very detail-oriented and seemed to cover the entire appraisal process. I was really surprised that the author also provided information for those interested from the perspective of the appraiser who would choose to work with a firm as a consultant to an appraiser who chose to be self-employed and start his/her own business. I noticed that the author took the time to define both an appraiser as well as the primary responsibilities which defined this career and differentiated this type of agent from that of a real estate agent. I truly learned a lot about the type of transferable skills one could possess which would benefit him/her in this business. Furthermore, because I had always been curious about the significance this job had to the real estate industry, I really appreciate that this book went into depth about the challenges of this career and the expectations and attitude/s one should carry into this industry. The author was very honest, and you could tell a great deal of time went into its preparation. I even liked that information about licensure and resources – both on and offline – were presented to us as the readers. I cannot imagine how much time was spent inputting this together, but I am grateful for all the education it provided. I now have a better idea about the process to becoming an appraiser and a successful one at that. Thank you so much!

Valuable information
Interesting read! I learned reading this book that you can be an Appraiser from home, you can purchase software to fullfill that career move. I'm almost quite sure that many of us thought an Appraiser and Real Estate Agent is the same thing, but there's a difference, I won't spoil that information, you'll have to read it.There's four different licences in becoming a appraiser an Appraiser Trainee License, Certified General Appraiser,Licensed Residential Appraiser and Certified Residential Appraiser. To obtain any of those licences it briefly talks about the qualifications on how to have a career in that field. In the digital workforce there are apps to aid in your business as an appraiser,RapidSketch,LastPass,Supra e-Key and Mint etc. Those apps are designed to help you stay organized on the go with different files, photos of properties etc.Speaking of photos appraisers will sometimes use a infrared camera to check for things like mold. Yes, using your mobile phone for quality photos is acceptable, don't have to buy an expensive camera as mentioned in this book, well, some phones are expensive anyways. The author gives great tips on the hiring process how long the interview should be and what to look for in an appraiser assistant.Valuable information, give it a read! JESUS bless you.

The title does not reflect in the contents of this book
The title of this book does not reflect its contents. This book is full of motivational prose designed to encourage entrepreneurs to start a business. From what I read I would not highly value the advice given. In any event, the book does not address salient concerns related to becoming a real estate appraiser in any detail. Important topics such as aquiring the necessary experience as an appraiser trainee (which is a very difficult task) are ignored. I was very disappointed after purchasing this book and would not recommend it to anyone intrested in the nuts and bolts of becoming a real estate appraiser.
