The only FRUSTRATION FREE trimmer I've ever used!
Had this long enough to have used it plenty now. Wanted to try it out more than once or twice to really review it. I had trouble at first getting the head to twist to the side or back. Also had trouble getting the line spool out. But after using it more, these things got easier & are no problem now. They were just very new & still at first & I have hand/arm strength problems anyway. So if you get this, don't be so fast to send it back!! I almost did that, but now I love it, have no problem with the twisting parts moving like I want, & the adjustable length is a godsend. I read a lot of reviews for many trimmers & it seems to be a repeating problem that auto line feeds don't let the string out or let it all out. I have to say I've had NO PROBLEM at all with the line feed at all. In fact this is the only trimmer I've ever used that I can say that about!! It was very heavy for me at first, until I pushed the handle as short as it would go, & that balanced the weight for me so it was easy to use. I'm an older woman w/ arm weakness, & If I can get it to where I can use it easily, any woman should be able to do the same without much of an issue with the trimmer weight. This trimmer works well, stays plugged in tightly, has nice features that make cutting in different situations easy (I use it turned sideways along fences for climbing vines quite often), & feeds the line at just the right rate to not use up a whole spool in a single use. I do recommend buying a spare line spool to keep ready for a fast switch tho. I rewind them myself using .065 round line. The dual line feed spool isn't hard to rewind at all. This 15" GreenWorks Corded Trimmer is one of the best buys I made this year, & for sure the best trimmer I've ever used--frustration free.

POWERFUL!
OK, for all of those who give this a bad review, all I have to say is picky, picky, picky AND you all complain too much! I had a VERY old Toro trimmer, about 20 yrs. I'd say, and I didn't have all the bells and whistles on it. It had LONG ago stopped feeding the line when you tap it and I had to do that on my own. I fixed that by getting stronger line that would last through all the tough spots that usually tore the line apart, and stringing it MYSELF, so STOP complaining about silly things, if you can't find replacement string you can do it yourself, it's NOT rocket science!First of all, after coming from an OLD trimmer that no longer would auto-string (or should I say BUMP string), it was GREAT having one that did it without me even knowing it. Second, this trimmer has POWER compared to my old one, BOY does it; got to be careful though cause it REALLY kicks up. My other one did too but this one is MUCH MORE powerful, and the edger on it (which my old Toro did not have) sure can edge deep into the ground; LIKE THAT LOTS, IT'S COOL!!So far I LOVE it including the color. Only thing is I am a small female and not as strong as I use to be, so the trimmer feels heavy (compared to what my old Toro did), BUT in all fairness it's a bigger motor, I'll get used to it!Well, I am one who would say that it's worth buying cause the price is VERY reasonable for it's quality! One thing else; I don't know what all this thing about gas trimmers versus electric and not having the power the gas one has. I have friends with gas trimmers, and as they are great for extremely large yards that you can't drag electric cords far distance, I have never known any of my friends to be THAT enthusiastic about them. They tell me they're heavy and somewhat picky about starting. As far as power goes, this one is powerful enough, FOR SURE NO PROBLEM THERE!!

Great trimmer, bad string
I switched to this trimmer after using a gas trimmer for many years. It is just as powerful as the gas one if not more so and I like that. After reading the reviews and all the complaints about the trimmer line not being very good I thought to myself “No problem, I’ll just string it myself and not use the line it came with once I use that up.” Well, the line it came with went very quickly and was terrible as expected. I bought my own line and restrung the spools using the same gauge, buying the refills will bankrupt you, don’t do it. However, the recommended gauge of line is thin and no matter what you will go through them quickly just at a slower pace than the original reels. If you can handle doing that than this is a really good trimmer for the price. I’m sure I can experiment with different line and get a better result over time.

Get the job done
Works well but I recommend you use your blower to blow out the dust and dirt after you use it and take a brush to get the mud out of the vents… Hold it upside down when you are brushing off the mud so it doesn’t fall down into the vents… as usual reloading the string with these things is always a bit of a trick

This is a terrible machine.
This is the worst purchase that I have made through Amazon. Assembly was easy. The trimmer was somewhat heavy, and the cutting line was very thin, especially matched with the size and heaviness of the motor. After edging a small area, I saw that about half of the line had worn off, and I tapped on firm ground a couple of times to advance the line. No advance. Tried again without results. Checked my owners manual and could see that there was a section for removing the trimmer spool. Could not read the tiny print for directions. After prolonged search, found a small magnifying glass, and learned the this machine had an automatic feed system, something that I did not want, and would have never have bought this thing if I had known. It obviously did not work, and tapping the ground provided no solution. Removing the spool also proved to be impossible. So I am tossing this shopping mistake in the trash, and do not wish to spend any further monies towards fixing it. I'll try again, to buy a corded, electric string trimmer that has no automatic string advances, but rather advances the string by tapping on the ground.
