Delivery Damage to BOTH boxes.
Amazon was great as usual. Shipping was horrible. Both speakers were broken beyond repair and were shipped back for a full refund. These speakers are BIG and require extra shipping protection to make it to the end user in one piece.(edit) The speakers are very nice and price was great. BUT in fairness to Klipsch and Amazon I never had the opportunity to wire them and hear a single note of music since they were returned due to damage by the shipper.I plan to re-order them as soon as they go on sale and equal the deal I had when I first ordered them in the past.(edit 2) The damage to the shipment I received is NOT a fault of Amazon or Klipsch so please do NOT take this into consideration when potentially purchasing these fine speakers. Since this order I have gotten a new set and have them playing now in my theater and I can tell you personally that these speakers are loud, accurate, and very well built.I have changed my "Star" ratings from a 1 to a 5 based upon a comment by another customer who brought to my attention that maybe I was being unfair in my rating since the damages originally incurred were no fault of Amazon or Klipsch. If you have $400.00 laying around and are looking for a speaker that will perform WELL above it's price range? These are for you. I highly recommend them. I purchased mine at $399.98 per pair and it was the BEST upgrade I've done to the theater in a long time. They replaced a pair of Polk Audio Monitor 10's. The new Klipsch run off an NAD 2700A THX rated amp and believe me if you live in an apartment or have close neighbors you won't want to crank them up (okay YOU will want to but the neighbors won't want you to!). They are LOUD and PROUD and easily hit their rated db spec. The bass is accurate and the highs are crisp and clear. Highly recommended.

Great for movies, average for music
I expected more out of these...I have them hooked to an NAD tuner, top of the line, and they just sound average. I usually like Klipsch stuff, but these are underwhelming. Bass response is very good, but they really over emphasize the vocal region. They are great for movies as a result, but for music enjoyment, I'd look at something else.

Dissappointed
I am going to keep this short and simple. For a speaker of this price range it had the build quality of some no name budget speaker you buy at K-mart. Legs cracked easily and the edges of the speakers are poorly glued together. Before you buy and waste your time go into a store and take a closer look in person. I wish I would have done so! I went to BestBuy to check out some TVs and decided to take a look some Klipsch speakers and most of them you could pick apart the sides at the edges or you could already see the sides coming apart. Made in China and Klipsch has let quality control go down hill.

So So speakers
What can I say other than these speakers sound pretty good for $294 I paid for them. Their full retail price being $800. And at $800 you would be getting robbed. The cabinets are poorly finished, the screens do not fit very well either. Also mine came with a broken foot direct from the factory. I say that because the box and packing show no sign of damage. As far as the sound quality they are pretty good. A little on the bright side but not bad. Also they have reasonable Bass response. I think my old BIC DV64's sound better, so I guess i'd reccomend the BIC's unless it's important to have the KLIPSCH name on your speakers.-----I now have about 30 hours of playing time on these speakers. The sound quality has improved markedly. Much fuller sound with better imageing. Greatly expanded sound field. Still the top end can be a little hard on the ear drums. I now put their dollar value in the $400 range because the boxs are still on the low side as far as fit and finish Overall a good speaker not a great speaker. And for this price range I guess that is what I should expect. After contacting Klipsch customer service about the broken foot and waiting a couple of weeks for an answer. I am told that the foot costs $2 and they will not replace it because I bought the Speakers from Amazon marketplace (which they tell me is not an authorised dealer) and that I got too good of a price on them. So "They will not honor the warranty" HOW ABOUT THAT! I should have bought something else and I reccommend you do too.

Good for movies, not so good for music
I have to give these speakers a four star rating. I really was hoping these would exceed my expectations over my dual 8 inch Sony speakers. They really didn't. As a matter of fact, my Sony's had better bass coming out of them. My receiver is a Yamaha RXV1800 with a Klipsch sub, center & rear surrounds. I wanted these fronts to complete the system. On the positive note, they sound really great for movies. Nice crisp & clear. I really wanted them for my theater anyway & at $199/each I really can't complain too much.

Great deal for high performence loudspeaker towers
Got these to upgrade from a pair of polk monitor 70ii and they are hands down better in every category. I'm running them with a Harmon hardon arv 235 and with the Polk speakers I had to watch tv and movies at like -35db on the volume and with the new klipsch towers the are just as loud and have more bass at -50db on the volume. I was worried that the two 8" woofer wouldn't have as much bass as the four 6.5" drivers but they put out more bass at all volume levels. I have two Polk psw505 subs and since I hooked up the klipsch towers I turned the subs off and cranked my Polk center and Polk surrounds to +10 to kinda hear them. Klipsch towers are very nice and they look really sharp. One of these days I want to get the RF-7s but they are pricey so these will do for now. The horns are super crisp and detailed at all volume levels I have been breaking them in slow and couple nights ago I turned up some mudvayne to -10 db these speakers come alive the double bass kick drum sounded super tight and the guitar riffs and symble crashes sounded so much better than the Polk towers
