Mind Training
Will power is a muscle. If you do not exercise that muscle, it atrophies. I work out every day. I don't do it for anyone else, but me. I went through an arduous battle with diabetes type two. I wasn't born with it. I had no self-discipline, and lived off of fast food. I paid the price. After 17 years of managing the 'slow killer', I got a kidney/pancreas transplant, and my diabetes was gone. I never wanted to go through that again, so I learned better eating habits, and began to work out to stay healthy. It takes will power, and the need to gain pleasure from my previous pain to accomplish my feat. I became iron for that exact reason, and now, working out is my new 'perfect drug', because I trained my brain to enjoy the results of my labor. This book tells you how to accomplish this. Mr. Mann had the will power to complete this book. You should have the will power to read it. Highly recommended.

A must read!
We all have big dreams, and I think that the thing hindering most of us from achieving our goals is the lack of self-discipline or willpower. I bought this book because I want to change myself and achieve my dreams and achieve happiness. I was struck by the “dog and the cart” example, I want to learn how to master myself and pull the cart where I want to go and not the other way around. Lack of self discipline as stated in the book are “ slaves to moods, appetites and passions”; this just proves why I don’t have a desirable weight and not a happy relationship (due to my constant change of mood). I have lost my way, and I’m so grateful that I found this book. This is a must read, and I know this book can really help me and many others.

Great practical advice
This book explains how will power is a muscle that will get fatigued. This explains a lot for me as I feel my will power getting weaker as the day goes on. By 4 pm I want to eat an unhealthy snack and watch tv. I hope to use the strategies listed in this book to increase my will power. I enjoyed the fun tips on how to build the will power muscle. I plan to implement these as well as strategies to both schedule and automate to reduce my "decision fatigue". I appreciated how the information was supported by research-there are far too many books giving advice without anything to back it up and the supporting research in this book verified what the author suggested.

Worth buying for a quick reading
Developing good habits so that not to deplete willpower and having a mission in life to develop self-displine--the "why" power. But these did not get enough coverage in the book.

Great!
This book was awesome for helping me understand my self a bit more and my inner will power. It is important in life to have "thick skin" and self-motivation when obstacles are in your path. Even when other people in your life doubt you, it is up to you to support yourself and find a way to accomplish whatever goals you have set. Dominic emphasizes and explains how to acquire these skills.

Some interesting points but very short read
Many referals to studies and quotes by famous people make it an interesting read but it lacks depth and structure, hence only 3 stars.

Great motivational book about developing willpower
This is a great motivational book about developing willpower. I particularly liked the reference to willpower being a muscle and you having to exercise it, I would completely agree with this. With somethings I am very disciplined, but with others I really struggle to find willpower and this is where the book comes in very handy. It is straightforward to read and very engaging. The evidence based practice it contains really made the book for me, the research is sound and very interesting.
