Effective for cooling rooms
I'm writing this review with a large degree of ambivalence about most features. Sure, this thing can dehumidify. Sure, it's got a functional and fairly intricate remote control that works. Sure, there's a sleep mode. But I don't really care about that- my use case is not dependent on it at all. What this unit does for me, in simple terms, is provide cooling in a room that's prone to overheating. My computer heats up my office, which is separated from the rest of the house but on the same AC zone for some reason. The thermostat is on a separate floor, so that floor will get freezing cold while my office heats back up to an uncomfortable temperature. I needed something to change. It's not quiet, but it's not THAT loud. It has Alexa integration, which allows me to have it turned off automatically whenever I'm not in the office. And, for the first time since I set up my office, I'm literally shivering in this room. So is it perfect? Nah. But it works, and it has some features I care about.

Works great
UPDATE 12/8/21: The best $350 I've ever spent. Kept us cool and refreshed the entire sweltering summer. Here are some tips: it starts to lose its cooling ability if the filters get dirty, which can happen with a pet in the house every two weeks. There are three filters: one is just the back cover at the top (that is the filter: the cover itself), and there are two down at the bottom, one at the back and one on the side. Just give those a rinse every couple of weeks and the cooling will be restored. Also, I don't live in a terribly humid climate, so every month or so I just put a towel under the spigot at the bottom center in the back and open it, tip the unit this way and that and drain the little bit of water that has collected onto a towel. I didn't need to use the hose provided (and there wasn't enough water to defeat the gravity needed to get the water to come out using the hose). Those are just some tips, but this unit is AMAZING. I'm so, so pleased I bought it.I live in San Diego and my apartment has no central A/C. So when it gets hot here, and it does get very hot here, we fry. I have one window A/C from about 1978 that cools the living room, but that's it. My black lab and I can't sleep at night because the cold air from the living room doesn't make it to the bedroom.Enter this "Midea MAP10S1CWT 3-in-1 Portable Air Conditioner, Dehumidifier, Fan, for Rooms up to 200 sq ft." I installed it by myself. It was harder to think about installing it than it was to just do it. I didn't even need a screwdriver. I have a thin window that slides from right to left (rather than up and down) but that wasn't a problem at all: the provided boards slide up to fill the space. The hose snapped into the hole in the bottom board the first time. Turned it on, it worked. I didn't even read the instructions for running it, I just figured it out. As things come up that I wonder about, I look at the instructions. For people talking about having to empty the water: THIS IS NOT A PROBLEM. Maybe they're talking about when using it as a dehumidifier? I mean, obviously, if the water is coming out of the air, it has to go somewhere. Now, there IS a degree of dehumidifying going on with the cooling function, just like with ALL A/Cs, that's not unique to this one; with window A/Cs you just don't realize it's happening because the water that comes out of the air with the cooling function drips down outside out of sight out of mind. So with this, every few weeks you need to unscrew the cap at the bottom of the unit in the back, pull out the rubber stopper, and let an ounce of water come out.At first I hooked the provided hose up to the spout and put it into a bucket, but there wasn't enough water to defeat the gravity and it wouldn't go up the hose. So I just put an old towel under the spout, took the hose off, and let it drip about an ounce of water onto the old towel. I tipped it this way and that to get the last of it, put the rubber stopper back in, screwed the cap on, and boom it was done. This is NOT a big deal so stop complaining. Okay so if you live in Florida, or Missouri, I could see the air having more water in it and the A/C working harder to cool your room by removing moisture from the air, and there might be more water involved, so maybe you have to empty it once a week for five minutes. But still, if you're not going to get a window unit, where exactly are you expecting the water to go that the unit is removing from the air? It has to go somewhere. As for noise: have you heard a window A/C? This is not any different, and is actually a bit quieter. I love the sound of fans. If you don't, you might not like it.My dog is very happy because he gets hot with his black fur coat on. This unit makes the room so cold at night I have to sleep with a hot water bottle, because my dog likes it really cold in his bed on the floor. And since he's spoiled and I'm his servant, 62 degrees it is.Bottom line: completely happy, sleeping like a baby in an ice cold bedroom (feels like a hotel), and my dog says ruff ruff ruff 10/10.

So loud!
8/3/22 Update!Still very loud, but I live in NY and it's super humid. I've been running this in my bedroom all day and I can say I've just now drained it and there wasn't as much as I anticipated. I was worried it would leak or I'd have to drain it daily, but hopefully this review helps relieve any concerns.I needed a portable AC because my landlord doesn't want anything to stick out in the front of her building, but my bedroom is in the front. I have the Midea U window unit in the back and it doesn't quite make it all the way without fans pushing it from two different places. So I invested in this portable AC unit, but man is it loud! When it's on fan mode not too bad, but when the AC mode is on it sounds like a beast. Luckily I'm not a light sleeper, but beware when you have it on auto mode for the fan it will go from quiet to loud.It does a decent job keeping the front part of my apt cool, but not as strong as my Midea U unit. It is really convenient to have the Wifi option so I can turn it on and off from my phone. No leaking issues and easy setup, also pretty big but that's my fault for not looking at the dimensions properly. 4 stars because it's so loud, but otherwise it does the job.

Very Happy and Comfortable!
Had a Della that lasted just 2 years then it just died. Bought this one after looking at all the reviews and we are a few days/nights into it and Media is doing better than expected. Its a 12x15 bedroom in a 5,000 square foot house so much easier and cheaper to spot cool down to 62 while sleeping. Having to increase the temperature to about 65 or 66 at night, just flipping cold LOL. Love the follow me option on the remote due to the unit being on the other side of the room and the remote being on the nightstand. I do pull it out away from the corner a little more to ensure that it can breath for the great performance that it has already proven it can do, then push it back int he corner as shown in my pic during the day getting it out of the way. The window kit is much better quality than the former appliance. You can see in my pic, i give the window kit a personal finishing touch making it looks much better. OVER ALL - great product, amazing performance, a little loud in high but almost nothing on low or medium once the room hit the desired temp. I am very happy! BTW - per the box (in very good shape with excellent packing) its looking like Media offers at home repairs since they mention a technician needing to come out for service, haven't confirmed but step in the right direction for something that is almost $600.00.
