Wonderful internal filter, stronger than expected!
I got the Sicce Shark ADV 800 for my 40 gallon tank. I needed an internal filter since I'm housing a moray eel that requires a lid. This filter is unbelievably silent, and despite being compact, is much stronger than expected! I'll probably be getting a second one after getting a feel for it.As someone who works in home/business aquarium maintenance, my advice would be to get two of these if you're using it on a 40 gallon tank or larger. It'll help with water flow and because it's so compact, you'll want it for more filter media for beneficial bacteria to colonize in.My only gripe is that the filter compartments, despite being very modular and fun, are INCREDIBLY difficult to open for cleaning. It was not easy for me. This might just be an issue with my particular unit, but I have to use my heel and put pressure on the push tab of the lid to get it off, using all of my body weight. Nevertheless, it's durable, very customizable as far as filter media goes, and it's unobtrusive to look at.This filter is definitely worth buying, albeit on the more expensive side. If you don't desperately need a lid to keep your critters inside, a hang-on-back filter will be more affordable and work just as well.

Looks nice but it can be loud!
The media could not be loaded. So I usually use the FlugalU30 but the maintenance on the tank was getting crazy and expensive. I heard that the SICCE Shark ADV 800 Internal Filter was good so I decided to try it. It was easy to put together but it was not easy getting the suckers on the filter holder. I found that the filter is noisy when you have the tube on top to make the bubbles but if you remove it, it’s quiet. I have enough air bubbles so I didn’t need it. I cut the white sponge in half and added some media to it. It looks nice in the tank. I will give an update after a month.

It’s loud (updated on 05/29/2024)
SICCE Shark ADV 800-Using the Venturi is extremely loud. I was expecting a higher flow rate. I like the magnetic chambers. Being able take all the chambers out without having to remove the pump is very nice. The filter has been running for approximately 24 hours. This is a new 29 gallon set up. The picture without the Venturi working was taken yesterday around 6:30am. All the other pictures were taken about 24 hours later.Update 05/29/2024: Stopped using the Venturi. Filter is running great and quiet. The water is crystal clear. Live plants have been added along with some driftwood. The water does have a slight tea color due to the tannins being released by the driftwood. Updated to 5 stars.

3 years and still running
Italian Craftsmanship at it's best. Clean out the filters regularly and this thing will keep the water clean. Have a 35 gallon pond and it has been running non-stop for over 3 years now.

Loud louder loudest
I have a 70 gal aquarium in my living room. Needing to replace my current filters I researched a lot and made the choice of purchasing the Shark filters as they seemed perfect for what I was looking for. Very disappointed. First night they were running I was awoken several times because of the noise they make when operating. I ended up shutting down one from pumping air but still not much help with the noise. Additionally one of my lampeyed tetras got sucked onto the bottom of the filter and died. I am so unhappy with this purchase. I should not have been so confident and quick to dispose of my old filters.

Get this filter!!
I have had my Shark filter running continuously for over 2 years now. It is powerful, is an excellent water polisher, hosts plenty of beneficial bacteria, and with the air tube poking out of the water it oxiginates the water very well! One tip I recommend for the air hose, put an air flow rate adjuster on it. This acts as a silencer, as the sound of the air being sucked into the tube can be very loud. This filter is a real survivor too! It has had a few bouts of landing in the sand, cleaned it out, and it was happy again! When it is brand new the succion cups work... Almost too well, just a warning! This filter is great to add to 125 gallon tank or as an overkill filter for a 20 gallon fry grow out tank.Get this instead of a power head, or the other options out there. It is worth it!!! This filter is amazing!

Works well but has its problems.
It's nice and quiet so it hides well in the tank. The filter is so small that it needs to be changed regularly. Also the suction cups all hardened after about a year so it doesn't stick to the glass anymore. Quite annoying.
