Brilliant rice cooker!
The Russell Hobbs 27040 Large Rice Cooker has become an essential kitchen appliance for me. With its excellent performance and user-friendly features, it has made cooking rice a breeze.First and foremost, this rice cooker is incredibly efficient. It consistently delivers perfectly cooked rice every time, thanks to its advanced technology and precise temperature control. Whether I'm cooking white rice, brown rice, or even specialty rice like sushi rice, the results are always excellent. The rice comes out fluffy, evenly cooked, and with just the right texture. The large capacity of this rice cooker is another standout feature. It can hold up to 1.8 liters of uncooked rice, which translates to around 10 cups of cooked rice. This is perfect for larger households or when I'm hosting gatherings. The generous capacity allows me to prepare enough rice for everyone without any hassle.I also appreciate the simplicity of the Russell Hobbs 27040. It features a one-touch operation, making it incredibly easy to use. I simply measure the rice and water, add them to the cooker, and press the button. The cooker takes care of the rest, automatically adjusting the cooking time and temperature for perfect results. It even has a keep warm function that maintains the temperature of the rice, ensuring it stays warm and ready to serve.Cleaning up after cooking is a breeze as well. The non-stick removable bowl is easy to clean and dishwasher safe, saving me time and effort in the kitchen. The sleek and compact design of the cooker also makes it easy to store when not in use, taking up minimal counter space.Overall, the Russell Hobbs 27040 Large Rice Cooker has made cooking rice a hassle-free experience for me. Its efficient performance, large capacity, user-friendly operation, and easy cleanup make it a standout appliance in my kitchen. I highly recommend this rice cooker to anyone in need of a reliable and convenient solution for cooking delicious rice.

The perfect solution to my old way of cooking rice
Why have I waited so long to buy this? It has always been hit and miss with cooking rice in the saucepan, This rice cooker is perfect. I have only just received it (2 days ago) and I have cooked Jasmine rice and sushi rice.... for those people saying it sticks, for me the sushi rice stuck a little but then something strange happened.I think it stuck because I put slightly less water in than was needed, and also when the rice cooker stopped cooking and went on to the warm mode, I checked it and it had slightly stuck, but then after waiting the 10 minutes resting time as the leaflet advises, it was NOT stuck anymore??? yes the rice at the bottom was slightly firmer than I would like, but it was not burnt or even stuck. The jasmine rice was absolutely perfect, and to be honest I have never cooked sushi rice before in a saucepan or any other way... so it was never going to be perfect.I intend to cook many things in this rice cooker, adding salmon or shrimps and vegetables to the pot, as it is big enough.I would say its big enough for 6 cups of uncooked rice, OR 2-3 cups of rice in the bottom, with fish & vegetables in the steamer. It is not big enough to cook 6 cups of rice AND vegetables, but as there is only 2 of us, I can add enough rice at the bottom, vegetables of fish / prawns / meat in the steamer basket and it will be a fully rounded meal....My next thing to try will be porridge, and then rice pudding, I cannot wait to try those. There are also people worried that it has not got a timer...... and you can buy a timer for less than a fiver. This is a lovely rice cooker, and although I do store mine in a cupboard, its a nice looking cooker if you want to keep it on your worktop.

Perfect for Two — Simple and Reliable
We’re just two people, and this Russell Hobbs rice cooker fits perfectly into our kitchen routine. It’s straightforward to use — we just add rice and water, press start, and it does the rest. The rice comes out fluffy every time, and the keep-warm feature means we can eat whenever we want without worrying about it getting cold.Cleaning is a breeze since the bowl and lid are non-stick and dishwasher-safe, which we really appreciate. The steamer basket is a nice bonus; we use it for veggies or fish alongside the rice.Overall, it’s been a great little helper for us, making cooking rice stress-free and quick.

Rice is (not) nice....
I'm not sure how or why this rice cooker has so many positive reviews. I absolutely despise it and will be purchasing a different model soon with this one relegated to the tip. It is genuinely not fit for purpose and I have not once managed to cook a lovely bowl of fluffy rice. I get perfect results from a pan on the stove and only bought a rice cooker as a treat. Here are my issues:1. There is no recipe booklet, only a bog standard recommendation of a ratio of rice to water. I am guessing this is for plain, long grained rice. Well, newsflash, different rice requires different cooking times., so it's been down to trial and wrror - mostly error.2. Even with the standard approach, the rice comes out sticky and gloopy.3. There is no buzzer to let you know that the rice has finished, so you need to watch with eagle eyes for the switch to flip over.4. When it does flip, it doesn't turn off, it keeps the pot warm, which usually means you end up with a crust of burnt rice on the bottom.Seriously disappointed with this - I expected more from a large brand.
