Absolute game changer for coaches/instructors/teachers
This book is worth it's weight in gold and filled with information that will completely change how you communicate to your child, student, athlete, employees....literally everyone you interact with on a daily basis in both your personal and professional life.I work in the Equine Assisted Activities and Therapies industry and teach with both able bodied individuals and those with physical, cognitive, or emotional diagnoses. I am able to apply the knowledge shared in the book in every single lesson I teach no matter the ability level of the student and I have seen dramatic changes in the learning and retention of skills by every single student in my lesson program. In addition to changing how I teach and interact with my students, the knowledge shared by Nick Winkleman over the years (which is now beautifully together in this outstanding book!) has also drastically impacted how I train and coach both new instructors entering this industry and current instructors looking to enhance their teaching skills and ability to relate and connect to their students.

A book that will stand test of time in educating not only the teacher but the athlete
This book encompasses two great quotes one from Albert Einstein, "If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough. From Leonardo Da Vinci, "To develop a complete mind; Study the science of art; Study the art of science. Learn how to see. Realize that everything connects to everything else. This book provides the pathway in creating the best possible learning environment for the coach to teach the athlete. It gives the coach a simplicity to break down complex skills into teaching moments of emphiphany and paints pictures to the athlete so they can build trust in the science of their movement and feel in the art of their movement. Thank you Nick Windelman as I stand on your shoulders I can see farther in my teaching of athletes.

Should be a college text book in every exercise science program
I've been coaching for over 10 years and was blown away by this book. I wish I would have been taught this back in college.

Connection is the most important thing between coach and athlete
This book is very helpful for me to reassess my coaching and cueing skill. And let me know the language is really powerful that as coach we must pay attention on it. Because before teaching we must know the process of learning, therefore, we can truly assist our client or athlete. The author use simple way to explain the difficult science of learning, therefore, I can easily understand the process of that. Thanks Nick. High recommended!

Must Read
Book is amazing. I was in sports growing up and am new to coaching. The way that Nick frames his teachings, building everything from the ground up and backing up his claims with research, really helps the reader understand the whys and the hows. It's a pretty thick book, but the way it was written is very engaging and not dry at all and it is PACKED with great content. Enjoyoble read. Highly highly recommend.

Nick Winkelman is Brilliant
Fantastic book. I was first introduced to this topic back in 2017 when I started my first internship. We were required before entering it to watch Nick Winkelman’s presentation on external cueing: “What We Say Matters.” This book builds on and clarifies those concepts while giving the reader advice on how to implement the concepts into his or her coaching. I can’t recommend this book enough.

A book every serious coach should read.
I wish I would have read this book at the start of my coaching career rather than the end of it.
