This filter is OEM quality and actually seems easier to install than the original. I am very satisfied with the filter and will continue to reorder as needed.I recommend this filter for its cost and performance.

My typical company that I'd get these from no longer carried them. I'm thankful I can purchase these online. They are harder to install but that goes with the system, not necessarily against the filter itself. They do a great job.

Just what I wanted

Pros -- The fit was good. The price was OK (competitive with others). Material seems appropriate for proper filtration.Cons -- It's unnecessarily tedious and time-consuming to install. For reasons that elude me, there are thick strings that run through the top part of the pleats near each end of the filter. This means the pleats don't separate evenly when you open it up to install. Instead, they tend to "clump" in various places and need to be separated and evened out manually so that the plastic pleat separators can be reinstalled properly. This adds substantially to the amount of time needed to install. I've purchased other replacement filters that didn't have these strings. They open up much more easily and the filter stays in place just fine. The other minor issue with this filter is that the cardboard edges, which are intended to hook into the housing, seem to be rather flimsy. With all of that said, once everything is in place the filter seems to work just fine.

I purchased this as the next best thing to a "bulk" purchase of MERV 13 filter material for creating homemade pandemic-related face masks. Obviously it's not intended for that, but from what I've read online (not proof positive), MERV furnace filters numbered 13 and above do not contain fiberglass at all while lower numbered MERV furnace filters often or maybe always do. MERV 13's and higher are reportedly made up of a safe polyplastic-type of microscopic material that is given an electrostatic charge enabling it to filter down to and including virus-sized matter. I have to add that I'm no expert at looking at this material and being sure its MERV 13, but it certainly claims to be here as of this date.Also understand that it's VITALLY IMPORTANT to know the direction the air must flow to filter through this material, that is with regard to which side you would breath through it (meaning the side facing a person's mouth... and by the way, its vitally important for any MERV 13 material on a face mask to be fitted tight-enough against a person's face to prevent unfiltered air from leaking into a person's mouth from the edges of the mask). The air flow filtering direction is NOT marked anywhere on the material or box as far as I can tell (and the filter material looks the same on both sides), BUT that's because it's a replacement filter that's designed to simply fit in the appropriate direction into an Aprilaire 2200 unit that's already attached to a furnace......so for help with this, you could look for Youtube video's on installing Aprilaire model 2200 replacement filters. The several I've recently found there visually indicate the air flow of the filter inside the furnace's attached Aprilaire 2200 filter frame (the installer-technician doesn't come right out and say it, but look closely for air flow arrows on the frame and it's not hard to figure it out from there) ...and there are probably websites that include drawings that depict airflow as well--just be certain about the filtering air flow direction.Initially I was looking for a single 24" square MERV 13 furnace air filter to try to make a couple of virus filtering face masks, then decided to look for a roll of the stuff for an extended family-sized batch. Not finding that, I found this item instead. Fortunately It will fairly EASILY unfold into approximately a 2 ft. by 38 ft. sheet, but at either end of the 2 foot width is a very small hole that repeats every 6 inches along the length of the sheet. These holes are so completely out of the way along the out edge that I believe they will NOT reduce the effective width at all regarding this filter sheet's use for mask making (...BTW, learn how to make a mask with a humidity absorbent inner layer because exhaled breath has high humidity).

It is an effective M2200 replacement filter at at economical price. And next day delivery with prime makes it super convenient. I would definitely purchase again.
