Coast of MaineOrganic Seed Starter - Sprout Island Blend 8QT

This is a great product, I had great success getting all my seeds started for spring! It’s also a great potting medium for most houseplants! Great value for the money, I will definitely be buying again when I start my fall seeds! The germination rate was very high! The only thing that didn’t germinate was my onion seeds, but they were five years old, and apparently onion seeds don’t store well from year to year.

Great starter soil with light nutrients. Everything has done Great so far using this seedling soil. Highly recommend

The soil is lovely, dark, rich looking but also very heavy compared to the other seed starting mixes I have used. Found chunks of solid stuff that had to be removed when planting seeds. May work well for cuttings but look elsewhere for seed starting.Edited to add: wow was I wrong about this mix. I have some of the healthiest seedlings that I have had coming up easily in it.

I was having problems with a getting a favorable germination rate. I was using a home made coco coir mix and another store bought seed starting mix and I was at less than %30 successful.So I switched to this and I had a %95 germination rate!!! Plants all grew very well. Great moisture control and it seemed to provide just enough nutrients to get them going. It is a little expensive but worth every penny in my opinion.I want to try more of their products in the future.

It was too cloying for seedlings. I planted half my seeds with this brand and half with gardeners not expecting to see a difference. However, the difference was stunning.

Coast of Maine in my opinion, makes some of the best soil you can buy, especially when growing cannabis or plants that fall in that category. I have tried them all everything from Fox farm to black gold all that good stuff and every one of them are decent, but most of them are a little too hot Coast of Maine has been awesome. Amazing you really won’t need any fertilizer or additives until you’re in about your first or second week of flower. It already has everything you need just to add water.
