Q: what is the primary coil's impedance rating?

Brown to common primary will give about 10K while orange gives about 7K. Blue is around 800ohms, and I haven’t tested the rest. This was all measured by a HealthKit IT 28 which will may have around 10% error; however, those impedances have worked great for my tube amp needs. I hope this helps.

Q: With 6 wires color coded are there instructions on what goes where?

The wiring guide is printed right on the transformer. Connect the primary side to your 70V amplifier using the black primary common and whichever primary tap you want to use based on the watts you want to allocate to that speaker. Connect your speaker using the black secondary common wire plus the wire that matches the impedance of your speaker... 4, 8, or 16 ohm.
