Scuba diving with ear plugs?? Yes, really!
I had issues with water in my ears from the start of scuba diving. Finally, read about Doc's Ear Plugs. I'm not guaranteeing perfect results, because ear issues require a doctor's involvement. That includes me, with many visits to the ENT doctor, plus a tube in one ear drum. So I can't dive without ear plugs in order to prevent ear infections. I've been down to 110 feet without any serious problem while using Doc's Ear Plugs (the ones that allow air in but keep water out; there are different versions for keeping the ear blocked for surfing or pool use). Some dive instructors say you can't use ear plugs, but they don't realize that you CAN equalize your ear pressure when using Doc's Ear Plugs. I recommend you practice in a pool before dropping to any depth below 10 feet.

As Good as Some, Better Than Most
These seem to work pretty well. Have been swimming with them regularly for the past month or so and they keep the water out as well as the silicon ones I have used for years. Once you become accustomed to the leash (keeping it behind your neck and looping it through your swim goggles, etc.) its a pretty good feature -- helps keep the set together. I like that I can hear better with these. I thought that the fact they are clear, in fact nearly invisible if they fall off, was going to be a problem, but the fact that they float mean they can easily be located if they do get lost in the water. Make sure you get the right size however (pay attention to the sizing chart, found elsewhere -- Google it) or you may not be satisfied. I like these pretty well and would recommend them for the reasons stated above.UPDATE: I stopped using these not long after writing this review. I guess it was inevitable that the thin plastic lanyard would break with all the activity that comes with swimming. Once they got separated, they were almost impossible to recover due to their almost-invisibility. I am back to the silicons! Really, if you are serious about keeping water out of your ears, do yourself a favor and go with the soft silicon or bees wax. Rating changed from four to three-stars since they actually are pretty effective if you can keep track of them.

Good on-line reputation
We tried on and bought this brand at a dive shop. The sales person suggested a larger size but they didn't seem to fit comfortably and they only had the size my husband wanted and not mine. They offered to order for us but we live an hour away from this shop plus their shipping charges added quite a bit to the price.I ordered the other size from Amazon and took them on our trip.Either we still didn't order the right size or we used them incorrectly (even after instructions from the dive shop) because they just aren't comfortable. We'll continue to use them but I'm not 100% happy with them.

Doc's ProPlugs do an excellent job of keeping water out of your ears while still letting you hear.
Doc's ProPlugs do an excellent job of keeping water out of your ears while still letting you hear well. The vented ear plugs allow only a small amount of water inside the ear, which keeps the ear warm and allows you to hear what is going on around you, which is important while surfing. The leash prevents losing your ear plugs when getting washed in heavy surf, though it sometimes tugs on them when caught in the collar of the wetsuit. That was the reason why I removed the leash from my first set of ear plugs until I lost one in heavy surf. Now I just make a knot in the leash so it is shorter. I mainly surf in 52 to 57 deg. Fahrenheit waters and would not surf without these ear plugs anymore.

Great Ear Plugs
I use them for triathlons and they work well. I have never had any trouble with them falling out or not fitting well. They do the job well.

Work well so far keeping water out
I've used these a few times surfing in freezing water - they do a good job keeping water out so far. They do make it a bit hard to hear, but probably not many options to keep water out and still hear everything. Recommend these for cold water surfing and ear protection.

Arrived on time. I have not had a problem ...
Arrived on time. I have not had a problem with swimmers ear since I got them. Really appreciate being able to hear while wearing them. The price was on the high side, therefore, the four star rating. But they do work.
