Upconverts PS1 games on PS2 to 1080p TV
Exactly what we needed!I found my brother's old PS1 & PS2 several months ago and dug out my copies of Final Fantasy VII and VIII with the intent of introducing my kids to them. After a long time gathering replacement cables and controllers that worked, we were finally able to give it a go. We connected the Playstation1 to our Onkyo receiver which is connected to our HDTV. The console started up just fine but was extremely blurry. The both games showed the splash screen, but the screen would stop showing beyond that. We could tell that the games and consoles were working (we tried both FF VII and FF VIII in both the PS1 and PS2 and got the same result) because the audio would play. After some research we realized that the problem is that the PS1 is 240p, and though the PS2 upconverts it to 480, the signal for the original PS1 games is still too weak/simple for a 1080p HDTV to even know what to do with. So we began looking for upconverters from the red/white/yellow cables to HDMI. This one got better reviews than most, so we tried it.Pulling it out of the box I was impressed how nicely it was packaged, each component was individually wrapped & it included a converter from USB to plug for the power. It is straight forward plug-and-play. While the system was off I attached everything where it was meant to go and switched on the PS2. It worked perfectly and smoothly. Given that these PS1 games are very old there was naturally a LOT of pixellation, but the pixels were CLEAR rather than fuzzy/blurry, which is fantastic. There is little to no time delay that I have noticed so far (playing Final Fantasy VII). In the hour and a half that we played after hooking it up there were no glitches of any sort. I will update if it gives us trouble.I would absolutely recommend.

Awesome 1080p for retro consoles
This converter is phenomenal if you have a good television that can fine tune the settings. I used this to upscale a GameCube, SNES, and a N64 to 1080p.Originally I tried plugging my RCA cables directly into my Sony Bravia 4K tv. The results were atrocious. The picture was super interlaced and noisy. Then I tried this adapter. The picture was MUCH smoother, as if it had been run through a de-noising and de-interlace filter.BUT there was one glaring error: it worked well on Standard mode but when I tried to stretch the picture to full screen, it was way offset to the right, and not stretching to the edge of the screen. At this point I was ready to give this product 3 stars, but after some finagling I was able to get the picture offset corrected, and some color adjustments that made my games look better than I've ever seen them on a projector TV.On top of that, there is a motion smooth setting on my tv that makes the games look almost like 30fps (which is amazing for the time period these games were released)Basically I'd say- if you have a tv where you can adjust resolution and manually center the picture, this is a great buy and much cheaper than high end upscalers.I've only been using it a month but I will update this review if I have any issues. So far so good!

Great for old school gaming!!!
I thoroughly enjoy this product. It does everything as promised. I currently use it to play a N64 through an HD projector. I have had zero issues with it and it works as advertised every time. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is due to the need for USB power. That makes it slightly inconvenient as you don't typically have a source for that nearby. Luckily I have a set up with a power strip reasonably close, in which case I can use the adapter from an iPhone/iPod charger. When I set it up in my home, however, I have not yet figured out how I am going to be able to supply that power once mounted to the ceiling. I suppose if you had a projector handy with a USB port that would suffice. If that is not going to be an issue for you then I highly advise this product. It even cleans up the picture a bit, as it refines the "blockiness" that you get from putting an older game system on an HD device.

Works okay for new TVs and older devices; stay away if using this as an upscaler to stream and play older consoles
It does the job decently if you only have a new TV or monitor that does not have the ol' RCA CVBS cables. For game steaming devices to showcase older consoles, you might as well look for a different device. It does in fact do upscaling for older devices. We tested this using a Avermedia Live Gamer Portable C875 device and a Nintendo 64. On the recording side at both the 720p and 1080p settings, it introduced a higher refresh rate than what the streaming device was capable of. This introduced rapid flickering that rendered suitable recording and playing impossible. Adjusting the settings to compable resolution/refresh rates did not reduce the incoming refresh rate and flickering.

He probado varios dispositivo similares chinos y ninguno funciono correctamente
Lo compré para conectar una cámara de video compuesto CCIR con un monitor para ordenador de pantalla plana, no recorta la imagen, la calidad es excelente y es muy fácil de instalar a un precio razonable. Puede que compre más, recomiendo su compra

Best RCA/CVBS/Composite to HDMI converter out there!
Excellent product, working straight out of the box. I've tried this product with Nintendo 8-bit, Sega Mega Drive (Genesis) and Nintendo 64 and it all works perfect. Sure, the quality out of those consoles over composite isn't the best and there are the NES-HDMI and N64-HDMI products, but as they are expensive and I accept the composite quality I'm more than happy.Of course, don't think for a second that the "bad quality" is due to this product, it is all only because of the composite output from the consoles. The enKo Mini Composite RCA CVBS AV To HDMI Converter puts the image from your quality directly into a HDMI input with no quality degradation or input lag. It is a really fast and really awesome product!

No frills here!
works great but NOT FOR N64 as described it makes it way to distorted and pixelated. snes and sega work but don't expect any frills. The best way is to change your screen size to 4:3 instead of 16:9 as it looks somewhat better but still pixelated on the snes and sega. Don't know how everyone else got amazing visuals when I tried it on 2 different brands of led TVs and got the same result. This does not clean up the image at all.
