For the 5th Phone in Two Years I'm Really Happy
In the past two years I've gone through an HTC One M8, two Sony Xperia Z3's, and a Samsung Galaxy S5. The HTC got wet and died. One of the Sony's fell off my bike at 30MPH, the other got wet and died (even though it was "waterproof") The Samsung got heaved into a wall after I got so sick of their awful bloatware and UI I couldn't take it anymoreI previously used a Nexus 4 which still functions today, albeit without Marshmallow.I really like this phone. The pure android experience is a pleasure. Knowing I'll get N soon is great. The screen is perfectly fine for me, and I'm getting 24 hours plus out of the battery. The speed is also good enough for me as I use the phone primarily for business and web surfing. It's much faster than the Galaxy was, or so it appears. The only drawbacks for me are the lack of removable storage, and the front speaker which is kind of puny. But for the $375 I paid I'm not complaining. I love not having to pay for Jump and insurance and having T Mobile rip me off. I already have Comcast for that. Some people say it feels cheap because it's plastic, I think that's a little picayunish. I like the lightweight feel. We'll see how it holds up, but at this point I'm very happy. I also purchased a Supcase for it and it fits like a glove.

Worth every penny...not. LAGFEST galore.
Bought the Honor 5X thinking it may be awesome for $199. While it was decent, the UI was just too slow to handle. The EMUI was neat in many ways but the lags and stutters after a few days became really annoying. Returned it and bought the Nexus 5X since it was on sale for $349. Wow!Have not owned a Nexus since the Nexus 5. My how I missed it. Loaded all my apps and got everything arranged that I wanted. No lag anywhere, fast as pie and things just friggin' work. Android 6.0.1 works wonderfully and T-Mobile WiFi Calling and VoLTE worked straight out of the box. Wonderful.Owned the Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 4 (loved that phone) and the Nexus 5 - glad to be back. This is a great handset and it's so nice to be away from phablets for a while (iPhone 6s Plus as nice, but ohh so big). Considered the Nexus 6P too - but the added cost and the size made me sway towards the 5X. No complaints! Love this thing.UPDATE 2-27-16: Wow. What a few weeks difference makes. This phone has slowed down, it constantly lags, battery life has gotten worse (even after deleting the notorious Facebook battery-hogging app). I have researched quite a bit and even after deleting the cache partition in recovery mode, deleting the disk cache every day, doing a restore without a previous backup - this thing will just crawl doing several things like listening to Pandora, trying to take a picture (OMG it lags here) and in other areas). Never seen a phone lag and stutter and crash this bad, and this is a phone with a SnapDragon 808 and vanilla Android! I am perplexed and after reading quit a few forum posts at Android Central, this seems very common. Unreal. Well, sent an exchange at Amazon for the Nexus 6P yesterday and going to try that unit, even though the size concerns me a bit. We'll see. I've had several Nexus phones (Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 4 and Nexus 5) and have never seen performance be a problem like this. Sigh - Google must have really blown in on the Nexus 5X.

Great phone
I have to say I'm really happy I spent a little bit more than I usually do to get this phone. Any potential buyer should note that this phone only takes a micro sim card - mine was regular sized so I had to run down to my provider to buy a smaller one. After a few weeks of usage most of my phones enter dinosaur mode, but not this one, I've installed all of my apps on it and it still runs like a champ. It handles Pokemon GO with the best of them. The battery doesn't last too long, maybe like 8 hours of actual use, if that, but it will still last a whole day if you're not on it the whole time. The huge amount of disk space on it is awesome and it's just fast in general. Fast enough to handle a lot of modern apps. The touch pad on the back works great, I love using it to open my phone. My only little nitpick issue is that I can't seem to figure out how to make the keyboard have the numbers separate from the top row keys without making it into a ridiculous computer keyboard instead with even less buttons where I need them. Seriously, all I want is an additional row above the qwerty keys with the numbers and the qwerty keys can have other keys for the long press, specifically %, because I use that a lot and the punctuation menu from the period key isn't the most user friendly menu.
