Malibu LED Floodlight - Black Model# 8401-2604-01

Im an electrical contractor, I just did a major home renovation. When it came to the landscaping I was looking for a middle of the road landscape light. The expensive ones are really not worth it and since I needed about 40 or them they really weren't to an option. I went with these, they are bright but not too bright, don't seem to let water in, the color is consistent from fixture to fixture and they are easy to install and efficient. I don't really have anything negative to say about the. If they were priced at $20.00 each or if like a discounted 10 pack was available that would have been great.

These lights are very solid (good quality) and are the perfect brightness and color temperature for my yard. Highly recommend if you are replacing existing Malibu spotlights (and assume that they would also work great with any other low voltage system).

This works perfectly. This LED is very bright, it replaced an existing unit that went out.

Very bright

I have to admit I was a bit skeptical when I read the description saying that this LED light was comparable to the Malibu 20 watt Halogen landscape lights that I’ve had for 18 years. But I decided to trust Malibu’s integrity and ordered one to replace one of my lights that was damaged in a recent storm. My trust was not misplaced. I installed the LED light in a large planter that contained two landscape lights. There is NO noticeable difference between the amount of light produced by the LED light and the Halogen light. I you are looking close and know there are two different lights in that planter, the you can see that the LED light is slightly dimmer. I’m sure my neighbors will not notice. The construction of the light itself is the same metal as the Halogen versions. I’m sure if they wanted to they could sell the LED component as a replacement for the Halogen socket on the original.This is an early review as I just installed it today, so I have no idea what the durability of the product will be. But the impression is one the is consistent with the quality for which Malibu is known.

Wish it wasn’t so expensive but maybe it willlast a few years

I picked up some more of these malibu 20 watt replacements as I had a few others in my backyard go out. I really liked these when I bought them last time about 2012-13. I thought the light output just enough to light stuff well but not too overpowering and the color temp was a really nice warm white which isn't always easy to find in outdoor led lighting.These new ones while the packaging and product looks nearly identical. The LED array design you can see is different from my old ones and then when I got this new one connected I could see that the light color was no longer close to 2700k but probably closer to 3000k. Light output (lumens) is the same but the color is off so if your looking for 2700k these aren't it or if your trying to match the older product like I was these do not. I included a pic of the old color and then the color of the new one. You can even see in the pic, the color difference.
