I bought this doorbell camera because my mailman was attacked and kidnapped right in front of my house. The cops recommended that I get cameras for safety reasons. It was very easy to install, set up, and to use. I've never had any problems with it. I frequently view this camera throughout the day. It's a great doorbell camera. I highly recommend it...the video that's recorded can be saved and viewed anytime and anywhere without a monthly subscription. It's saves the video to a memory card.

Easy install, good picture day and night. Replaced a 1st gen Ring after the Ring wasn't always connecting due to poor rear plate fitment causing corroded contacts. Additionally, when 2 years of the Ring subscription is close to the same price of this camera and a 128gb micro SD card, it was a no brainer. I've used Geeni/Merkury Innovations products for over 5 years (cameras & lights) with little to no issues. The app isn't as clean and easy to use as the Ring app, but this gets the job done.

I would really like to write a review for the doorbell but I can't. Never got far enough to try it out. I never could get the app to work. I could get to the screen to select network and enter password. The app found my network. No problem there and yes it is a 2.4GHz. You enter the password and click a blue box labeled Next Step. I entered my password and clicked next step. Nothing happened. The app would never go to the next step. I uninstalled the app. Downloaded and reinstalled. Same thing. I called tech help. Started with step one. Got to the step to check my internet speed. I'm getting 220Mbps download. 11Mbps upload speeds. Tech tries to tell me the problem is my internet is not balanced. I'm a tech myself and have never heard of anything like that. Asked me to reset my router. Then hung up on me. Not intentionally I'm sure. Computer phone systems just sometimes glitch. Called back. tried to explain the problem was with the app. Had to go through from step one again. This one told me to wait till tomorrow and try again. I zapped a email off to tech support explaining the problem. The next day tried it again. Same problem. Called again. Same thing starting with step one. I explained the problem was with the app. It never even scanned for my WiFi. Was put on hold. Came back with he will have to expedite it to the developers. It will take 24 to 48 hrs for a response. No response from whoever the developers are. Requirements said Android 4 or greater. I'm running Android 9. Uninstalled and reinstalled the app 5 times. Reset the doorbell 5 times and reset my router twice. Checked my password multiple times. At the end of my rope. Sending it back. My first experience with Geeni. Won't purchase anything else Geeni.

works great for security at a great price

I have the genie indoor camera and they are great! Sometimes they go offline when you try to talk through them but it’s ok! Oh and no annual fees.. just buy the doorbell and micro sd card and you are ready to go!!

I like that this camera works with an SD card and does not require a subscription like everything else now days. However, it does not work with Alexa as advertised. Alexa don’t find it nor can their support work out how to get it to work. They walk through all the same steps in the sit up, ask for your login credentials whose is unacceptable and then tell you that they have escalated it to their development team. They chat with you via email over the next few days to weeks with no solution. So if you want the camera to be viewable on an Alexa show, go with another option.

I highly recommend switching from the others to this brand. No monthly fees, I’ve had no issues and the products or not expensive at all. Best part, you can do all the installs and most of the old products you may have will be direct connects.. if not, they come with everything you need… this doorbell was super simple to install and gives me all the features… highly recommended… Just bought the same setup for my aging moms house.

Works great so far, easy to install, camera quality is great, picture quality good.
