Awesome product!
Finally someone came up with the design I have been looking for! The only downside is that it gets incredibly hot but you can turn down the heat to a better temp so as not to fry the ends of your hair. I had been using the Renac curling brush since around 1978 for my hard to curl thick hair. Later the company became Stylenac and the curling brush was redesigned somewhat but it still had the metal head that served the purpose like no other. I would buy these 2 at a time so I always had a back up when the wiring would break down and I needed to have it re-wired and then taped up because the on/off switch was always on the handle where you hold it. Not a great design but the heated teeth on the curling head was what I was looking for and needed. Then Stylenac stopped production!! I searched everywhere and found this new design from BaByliss Pro. I am so pleased with this new iron! It has the same metal head as the Renac/Stylenac irons but the on/off switch was moved so as not to interfere with where you hold it in the thinner part of the iron. Its not cheap but it is exactly what I have been looking for and it serves the purpose well. Just a cautionary comment, turn the temperature down to between 284--320 degrees to protect the ends of your hair but you will be amazed at how well this iron curls thick, hard to curl hair! Well done BaByliss Pro!

Too hot to handle
This item is even too HOT to use on lowest setting. It burns the hair and your head and hands. Consider it a safety issue. Would not recommend it for purchase.

Wanted to love it for lifting at the roots of fine short hair. But even at low temp, ... ouch!!
I wanted to love this, but it is too hot for my scalp even at low setting. Maybe I didn't set it low ENOUGH. But the dial was turned way way down. If it were turned down much more, I don't see how it would work to lift and curl hair. If anybody has found that they can use it on fine short hair, please tell me what setting you used. I'm willing to change my rating, and I'd really love to make this work for me. It's very hard to find a "brush" type tool that is less than 1 inch. I really have liked Babyliss products, the quality seems superior. Even on this particular one, it's obvious that it is not cheesy like most products of this type. I actually wanted a dryer brush, but the diameter of the Babyliss is just way too large. I hoped this thermal brush would be just as good.

Good product, but not enough curl
It works well, but I cannot get a tight enough curl - my hair is very straight. This is good when I'm in a hurry though.

the curls come out great! As with any brush iron
Years ago when perms were really in I had an orange handled metal brush iron. I've bee waiting for someone to come out with another one of this type!! It gets hot enough and since the bristles are metal as well, the curls come out great! As with any brush iron, a little natural curl works best as it is hard to grab the hair without it. Because the bristles are hot, its especially helpful. I am a hairstylist and the price is so much more for me to buy this in the hair store. (But don't tell that to the seller!) :)

Great Hair Brush
My hairdresser used this brush on my hair when she was styling it. It worked so good that I wanted to get one and got it for my birthday. It is great. The only issue is that it gets really hot and should not be used at the highest temperature. You have to hold it at the very tip in order to use it as the bristles get very hot and you cannot touch it with your hand.

might work better for someone with very thick hair
The metal brush was not right for me. My hair is to thin. Burned my scalp.. might work better for someone with very thick hair.

Would not buy again.
The "bristles" get too hot and burn the scalp. they need to have some kind of silicone bead or other heat barrier on the tip of each bristle. Otherwise it is a good product.
