STAR BRITE Mold & Mildew Stain Remover + Cleaner – Removes Stains on Contact - 1 GAL (085600N)

I had given up hope on ever removing the mildew from my deck furniture and canvas cushions. Although our deck furniture was kept outside under a covered deck, most everything was still subjected to the fickle, moist Ohio summers. Add to that drippy popsicle messes, and a band of homeless cats that routinely took up residence on the cushions at night, and you can imagine how literally disgusting the furniture on our deck was by the end of the summer. The cushions had both spotty mildew and dirt.To note, the instructions specifically state that this product is not for use on fabric. I decided to ignore that, as it was this or buy new cushions. I absolutely cannot believe how well this stuff works. I used it on four different types of materials, with impressive results.I do have a few suggestions for use...wear protective eye wear and wear a filter mask. I went bonkers spraying this stuff on my porch swing, and almost passed out from the fumes. It smells worse than straight bleach. Use this outside, on a relatively windless day, or you'll feel the burn on your skin. I'm not really a safety freak, but I do think eyewear, long sleeves, a mask, and sturdy gloves are a must. Wear something you don't mind ruining. That being said, I tried my deck swing first. It is that weird plastic wood composite stuff that's supposed to last forever, but it's white, so it shows everything. I sprayed the entire swing, and waited about 10 minutes before rinsing with my garden hose. Most of the spotty black gunk was gone, but I wasn't truly happy until I used a second application. The swing looks brand new again. Then I moved onto the cushions. I opted against testing an inconspicuous spot, and went to town. This stuff removed not only the mildew, but also the dirt from the cats. A few spots I had to treat twice, but the cushions look amazing. The cushions are a light teal color, so they show everything. I also used it on the multi colored patterned pillows- no problems with the colors bleeding or running. Also just hosed these off and left them in the sun to dry. Honestly I though for sure this would bleach the colors, or leave white spots all over, but that didn't happened. I moved on to the plastic deck box and outdoor garbage cans. Same awesome results, and no scrubbing required. So far, this has been the best cleaning day of my life. I live with my husband and gaggle of grimy active children, so to have something this clean is nothing short of a miracle. The last place I tried this product was on the greenish algae spots on my house siding. I had to use a stiff bristled brush, and a little elbow grease, to get everything, but it wasn't terribly difficult. I probably didn't need the brush, but I didn't want to spray this stuff above my head, and experience the rain down, so I applied some on the brush and scrubbed that way. I feel like this product has a multitude of uses. I can't wait to tackle the outdoor umbrellas next. I bought the gallon size, and used about half of it to treat 6 cushions and pillows for our deck set, 4 decorative pillows, a deck box and cushion, porch swing, two garbage cans, and about , 6x6 foot area of algae covered siding. A little goes a long way, but if the area you are treating is heavily soiled, plan on two applications. Also, if you really like your stuff, and you're not completely desperate, I would test any fabric for colorfastness prior to use.

Good stuff. Takes out mold and mildew stains that competing brands also designed to take out mold and mildew don't. Easy to use but it does have a strong toxic smell. Much more affordable in the gallon size but still pricey, but doesn't damage boat vinyl like bleach does.

Second time buying because this stuff is that good. Used to clean six badly molded patio chairs that had been sitting outside in Florida for a year. Sprayed one chair, turned my back to do another, and when I turned back to the first chair all mold was gone. Looked brand new. My husband was shocked —had anticipated a day spent on hard scrubbing —he insisted we buy more. No color bleaching either.

This product is amazing. We had black spots on our boat cushions and nothing else removed them like this stuff. No damage to the vinyl.

Very happy with how well the STAR BRITE Mold & Mildew stain remover worked—stains started disappearing almost immediately upon contact! It made cleaning up a lot easier and more efficient. However, the packaging could definitely be improved. The 1-gallon container arrived inside a plastic bag, and the outer packaging wasn’t very secure. Luckily, there were no leaks. Despite that, the product itself delivers great results and I’d still recommend it.

This does what it promises. Used it to remove years of mildew and mold on large outdoor umbrellas. Easy to apply using a gallon applicator, then brushed it off with a magic eraser sponge. At this point, the umbrellas looked great. Last step was a power wash, probably optional. Before and after shots show the result.

We ordered this based on a recommendation from a neighbor whose husband is a boat dealer. We were hoping it would help with the green film that develops on the hull because it's on the water 12 months a year. It absolutely did! Spray it on, wait a few minutes, then rinse. So we decided to test a small spot on the headliner in the cabin/salon which had become seriously discolored over the years from moisture. Using a spray bottle (wearing eye protection), it went on easily enough. In less than an hour, the water stains were gone - no rinsing necessary. It didn't take off a couple of spots that had turned black, but all the rest came out really well. I won't say our boat looks like new (it's about 30 years old), but it sure made it look great. It has a really strong bleach smell, so be sure to have plenty of ventilation. Highly recommend!

I have never seen a product ACTUALLY work so well. I will recommend this to anyone that owns a boat especially. I keep the cover on my bass rig when I'm working offshore and the moisture tends to start a slight mildew on the top of the seats by the time I get home. This product is actually spray on wipe off. The seats look brand new every time I use it and it helps prevent mildew from growing back. It does have a serious bleach smell to it, but it's a small price to pay for how well it works!! I don't recommend many products but this stuff really is amazing!!! P.S. don't wear your favorite shirt while using.....it will clean that too!!!
