A Well Made Vice At A Great Price.
Good value, works very well. Used in my home shop to hold work for drilling and milling.

I use this in my home workshop on a hobby mill. I didnt want to spend hundres on a vise. This performs very well. Seems well made. Tight tolerances and no wiggle. Cant beat it for the price.

Better than other Chinese, but not a Kurt
I got this for my Bridgeport milling machine. I was unsure of the quality but I ordered it anyway. It's heavy, the casting was ok. The moveable jaw mine had a ding in the top that doesn't affect function. I disassembled it and mapped on my surface plate, it was only out about . 001 at one corner, otherwise the top and bottom are parallel. I scraped the bottom perfectly flat and then scraped one top corner down and all is good. I did tap the fixed jaw holes deeper and replaced the Chinese bolts with longer American ones, the removable jaws are very hard, I milled little steps in the top region of the jaws with a carbide dovetail cutter and now I can clamp stuff up there without parallels. I use the steps more than anything. It's a good vise for the money, but it's no Kurt. Oh yeah I milled the 45 degree v that pulls the jaw down so it was flatter and that helped too. I look at stuff like this as more of a vise kit than a finished ready to use vise. If your a home shop guy and have time to blueprint and finish this vise, then it's a good deal for you. It can be made into a very accurate, very decent vise. Better than most of the Chinese milling vises that come with rotary base. If you don't want to fine tune it and expect it to be perfect out of the box then you need to buy a Kurt vise, not this. It's a good vise kit, replace some bolts with better longer ones, fine tune it for your usage and it's a pretty good bargain. Especially if you don't have the money for a new Kurt and live in an area where used Kurt's are rare to non-existent like me.

good things come in small packages!
held a few tenths everywhere on the surface plate after a couple well placed taps on the vise jaws.. but this thing definitely does what they say it does. holds a thou all day if you tap the work juuust right. spent a decent part of my day cutting 6" parallels in half.. I pushed it pretty hard.. 0.375" DOC, 0.125" stepover, 3 thou chip load.. she stayed true.. the cut sounded great and the surface finish was fantastic. like all the other reviews say, deburr the jaws.. save yourself the trouble of running for a bandaid because that stubborn chip wouldn't blow off.. no biggie.. this is the best vise $50 can buy hands down..

Good quality for the price.
This a great vise for the money. The only problem I had was the hold down bolts for the angle base were a little too long and would not allow the vise to rotate on the base. I just ground the length of the bolts down. Works great.

im new
i just got the mill about a week b4 i got the vise. i started to get a 3inch vise but wanted to get something i could use on as much as possible so i went with the 4 inch vise cause the width of the bed on my mill was 4 3/4 wide so i thought it would get the most out of it. again this was my first mill so im figuring it all out as i go an after getting the vise it is a bit big for the mill but this could be normal i dont know for sure. i do know the vise is attach to the bed an has made holding parts easier an so much easier for me to get the parts square to the head so ive been able to make square parts. everything im doing may be the wrong way but its working for me an i dont really have anyone i can question on this stuff so im more or less jumping into it head first without know anything about it so please correct me if im wrong but at this point i would suggest anyone who has the wen 33013 4.5amp the 4inch vise works great for it unless you know better, coming from a complete novice on machining it works for me.

Leadscrew barely engages nut when closed
This is a picture with the jaws closed. It's like they installed a leadscrew from a shorter vise?Leadscrew should go all the way through the nut, no?
