Easily Trace your Network Cables
I had a prickly situation, trying to figure out which CAT5 cable on the 2nd floor of my house, corresponded to the massive nest of unmarked CAT5 cables in my basement. I just connected the 2 leads of the supplied noise generator to a pair of the CAT5 leads in the bedroom then ran to the basement with the listening probe and quickly found the correct wire. Then I used an RJ45 push-through crimper kit and made my own end to connect to my network switch. This tool saved me a ton of time. So, it's a good brand, worked well, and was pretty inexpensive. Good tool to have around the house anytime you might need to chase a wire.

Great value tool
This toner works very well, and is great at locating unmarked runs for labeling! It's very easy to use and can even help at detecting EMF noise if you're creative enough!

Good tool for the job
Does t come with a case and needs a second set patch cables for rj45s but it works well for my uses. There are some quality concerns for later down the line like the switch for the on off for the toner is a dial that also adjusts the volume of the tones. I was able to do trouble shooting fairly quickly with it had some reversed wires in a cable even though it was terminated correctly wouldn't have known until someone called saying it wasn't working. All in all it's a solid tool you get what you pay for.

Did my own Ethernet wiring
I bought this to help me re-terminate the phone jacks in my new house for Ethernet, so I don't have to pay someone else to do it. This tool is for testing the wiring job. Worked well for me. Follow the instructions and watch the lights. The only thing I wish it did (but I'm not expecting it for the price) is that it could tell me if the cables are done right without having to go look at both ends. As it is, you need to note the light pattern on one end, go to the other end (may be a few floors away) and make sure it matches.

Tone and trace
Good quality tone and trace set. Great value for what it does. Easy to use.

Klein makes quality tools
Works just as good as some way more expensive units I have used. I mainly use the toner. The tester won’t give you a footage but it will let you know if the pairs are making it or not.

Okay but crappy
Timers okay it’s quiet and the tester half the time doesn’t read right it tells me it’s wired right but then it’s bad I put another tester on it and it says it’s miswired and wrong and now it’s to late to return by one day it’s not a good way to test at all

Klein Tools VDV500-705 Wire Tracer Tone Generator and Probe Kit
While this tester/tracer does work, barely, and I have not used all functions yet it seems to have a lot of trouble with identifying anything over a few feet in length. And no it was not a 'noisy environment' either. Took a lot of effort to be able to identify several new Ethernet runs of 50' to 100' lengths. When I was able to hear it sound off the sound was almost indistinguishable from the bits of static that was coming through the speaker. I even put new batteries in it thinking the original ones in the package may have been old but that made no difference. I had hoped the well known & respected brand would function much better but am really disappointed. I cannot see this being able to identify/trace any wire that is in the wall at all since you literally have to have the tip less than a quarter inch from the bare wire. I'm going to have to look for a better one.
