Great set for the money. Bought them to install in my 1986 Toyota 4runner. Haven't been able to do so yet, still waiting on my SMD Sunflash fiberglass resin to arrive so I can make door pods and I need to sound deaden my doors.Construction: Solid build quality. The crossover has many different options for adjusting the sound to how you want it. Each one has 3 midbass levels and 3 tweeter levels :0db, -3db, -6db. The grilles have a metal mesh covering the front of the speakers, but it can be easily dented, so I would advise that you place them somewhere safe or build something stronger to cover them.Sound: Very clear, detailed tweeter. The woofer has strong bass, playing as low as the mid 30's. Smooth frequency response on and off axis.

For the money these are some of the best you can buy. The silk dome has a warm sound to it and the whole set is very nice from low levels to medium high levels of volume. I have about 150 watts running to them but I don't recommend that others do the same. I recommend that you do not run more than rated power unless you really know what you are doing. I would hate to see such a good set of speakers damaged by misuse. At high volume (keep in mind 150w) they do tend to have some break up and the occasional frequency resonance. As far as normal listening levels, they are clean and clear. Tight mid-bass that can really attack on those heavy songs but smooth enough to play the more classical side of things.They are fairly balance and have pretty decent imagining. I have them mounted in the stock location, mid in the door and tweet in the dash. They bring the stage up well, but would probably do better having the tweeter in the A-pillar.Also they work nicely in a cabinet, so if you wanted a set of good 4 ohm bookshelf speakers, these will do it.The 4 star rating is me being honest about these speakers in relation to other speakers, not in relation to price. 5 stars for the performance vs price. 4 stars when looking at performance vs high end JL or really anything under about $1000. If you have money to spend and are looking for the best look elsewhere, if you don't have money and you are looking for bang for buck, these should be one of the sets on your list to decide from.Everyone has their own preference and taste so listen to a few before you buy, but if that is not an option, I wouldn't hesitate on these.

Installed these in my '14 Accord. With proper deadening and seals the mid bass is excellent. Tweeter are very warm and not overly bright. Crossovers also well built.Sundown puts out excellent products and has great customer service.
