I installed a1.5" thick, 8" deep and 5' long floating shelf to hold the electronicsThe I-Semble Heavy-Duty floating shelf support bracket is a set of two and I used three bracketsThe instructions were reasonably clear and my three holes bored into the 2x4 stud were straightThere was a bit of friction sliding the shelf on and a little enlarging of the hole solved the problemTypically you countersink the back of the shelf for the base to slide intoSince I was running the power, hdmi and coaxial cables behind the shelf, instead of boring a small vertical channel at each location, I left the base holding the shelf 1/4 inch out from the wall and dropped the cables where I needed them and even moved the electronic boxes around until I was satisfied with the placement. I have other locations I will be installing floating shelves and I have already purchased another package. Earlier I purchased the lighter weight brackets and they are screwed into the stud and I wanted a stronger support and they remain in my toolbox for some future project.

These mounts are surprisingly sturdy and easy to install. Put them up, place your shelf just under them and mark where to drill the shelf holes. Use care to drill straight. Slide the shelf on and your done!

Alignment of holes in wall studs and shelf must be precise. Mortising in the stem bases is time consuming and not really a DIY job. When installed on a 9” wide shelf they show significant flexing under very little load.After a year of use one of the pins broke and the shelf crashed to the floor. I would not use this bracket again.

These seemed to be well made and sturdy. I like the adjustability and the added rod support in the stud. However, this could have caused serious harm. My shelf weighed approximately 40 lbs total supported on two supports. During a dry fit before staining I went to remove the shelf and one of the rods snapped. I wasn’t putting any downward pressure, just pulling straight off. It appears moisture go into the seam and corroded the metal. It has a very thin connection point. Maybe I just got a bad set but I would have hated for this to fall on my kids.

I was not impressed on how these are rated to hold 125lbs. My shelf weighed around 25lbs and one of the pins broke off the bracket. These would be ok for a small shelf weighing 10lbs or less maybe? Had to send them back. The customer service was very understanding and refunded me quickly.

There is no information regarding weight limits. board dimension REQUIREMENTS ... let alone information on post size for drilling... need more description on site. when asking questions on page it states that there is Information already posted when there are only two post listed... Not wasting any more time and energy for this product until details are updated.

36” long 2” tall 12” deep shelf sagged on the front edge with any application of weight. Well within weight limit. This system may work in a hall or sitting room with fake books or empty vaces.Not happy at all.
