Techni Mobili Classic Computer Desk with Multiple Drawers, 29.5" x 23.6" x 51.2", Wenge

I just got my computer desk today. It was easy to put together. I think it's great quality, it's beautiful and strong great quality with a great price.

This was just a little time consuming to construct. It was missing a few Cam bolts, an email to the company and we had them within 5 days. Super quality and looks great.

I can't believe that I am posting this...I ordered this desk because of the price. I had a staff member build it for me and put it into an office. I came in a couple of days later and the whole room smells awful. I wiped it down with pledge and left it overnight. When I opened the door the next morning, it was even worse. I'm not sure what to do. I've never had this happen before. It is now coated in pledge with a fabreeze plug in at full power next to it. I am hoping that this smell does not last long now that it is out of the packaging and built. But it's now been a few days and still smells. I will update this review if and when the smell subsides.The size of the desk is perfect for a small study office. The drawers are small, but everything seems well built especially for the low price.

For the price I bought this at, I couldn't be happier with what I got.More than enough space for my setup, the drawers easily fit the entire contents of my old desk, which had an undersurface drawer also filled up.A lot of the reviews on here claim that the desk took them 4 hours to build with them being experienced assembling furniture, I'm calling them on BS, it took me an hour and a half to build this and I've only built three ikea furniture kits before.The steps are broken down pretty nicely, to where each step focuses on a piece of hardware before essentially just fitting the faces together. I made one error by facing a piece the wrong direction, but it was probably a 5 minute fix because I noticed it pretty quickly.The metal used for some of the hardware can bend or strip pretty easily, so make sure to have a pair of pliers on hand in case you need to finish tightening a piece. Ideally they'd just use a stronger material but it's hardly a make or break point for me.All in all I am very happy with this one.

My desk looks amazing. Sturdy, excellent wood condition, and the size was exactly what was needed. I would just recommend hiring someone off TaskRabbit to do the build. I surely was not going to waste my time doing all that.

As I was putting the desk together I ran across broken and/or defective pieces that were packed in the carton as if they were adequate to assemble the desk properly. My bad because I didn't thoroughly check all the parts before assembly but even if I had I would not have been able to determine that one of the desk drawers did not assemble and/or sit properly on the track. I contact the company on January 24, 2021 via product support requesting the pieces necessary to at least fix the drawer and as of February 13, 2021 have still not received a response. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS PIECE OF JUNK.

The desk was delivered in two boxes: one is bigger than the other. It's definitely not something you should assemble by yourself. You need at least one other person to help you hold the other panel while you put the cam locks in to attach them together. I almost broke the hole in the back panel (panel B) while trying to attach it to the side panel (the one without the drawers). Now that side panel feels a bit flimsy. After all, it's just a chip wooden panel attached to the surface. If you can put it at a corner, I think it'll be more stable because at least that side has the wall to lean on. The assembly definitely requires lots of attention to details, but just follow the illustrations in the manual and you'll be fine.Now once finished, it does look nice. I've got compliments from friends who visited my place and saw it. The surface is not exactly waterproof. If you put a cold drink on the desk without cleaning right away, you can see that the surface quickly becomes a bit rough under the varnished layer. I also find the edge of the surface a bit too sharp to rest my wrists on (like when I'm typing or writing).All in all, it's a nice-looking desk and not that expensive as well. The drawers are handy and functional. I rarely write reviews but feel like I have to give this desk one because they really made me work hard for the assembly.
