Best budget RGB Tubelight in the market
I have longed for the day when lighting equipment would become cheaper and I believe my wish is slowly coming true. enter chameleon RGB tube light. The chameleon comes in two sizes at the moment: a 4 feet and a 2 feet. What we will be looking at today is the 4 feet version. There are alot to like about this new light from Digital Foto and I would like to share with you what caught my eye with this Light.First things first is the built in battery. There are not many 4 feet RGB tube lights out there that have built in batteries. The chameleon will run from 1.5 hours to 3 hours on battery depending on the brightness level you use. I absolutely love this feature. Not having to worry about tripping on wiresSecond thing i like about the light are the 12 color effect modes, im so glad this is becoming more of the standard nowadays, say goodbye to flickerboxes!Next up is the wireless connectivity, the chameleon does have an app for both android and ios for pairing. Additionally the chameleon also features DMX in and out connectivity for connecting multiple lights.Next up is the weight of the lights and the build quality, i absolutely love how light this light is.......and not having to be extra careful not to break it is truly fantastic. The current tube light I have is an older version that still uses breakable light bulb so yea ill take this build anyday.Next up are the modes, the chameleon has RGB and a CCT mode that lets you dial in 2800K to 9990K which is prety impressive, some of my RGB lights can only go from 3200 to 6500k so the chameleon definitely gives you more options.Second to last thing i like about this light is the color rendition, majority of the cheaper lights out right now have either terrible green cast to it or magenta cast. I can say as of right now, the chameleon is pretty neutral to my eye.Which brings up the last thing i absolutely love about this light and that is the price, The price of the 4 feet version is $299. That is absolutely insane. I don't think there is any decent 4 feet tube light out there with a built in battery that can beat that price.

Punches well above its weight
These Chameleon RGBs are surprisingly bright and functional for just a fraction of the cost of an Astera tube. You get full range customizable RGB colors plus your standard special effects modes like Police Car, Party Strobe, etc. There are only a few 4' RGB tubes on the marker that are standalone and battery powered. The Chameleon is hands down the best value by far. Each one also comes with two mounting clamps when other manufacturers usually charge an extra premium for just one. The clamps have 1/4-20 holes so you can easily mount them on C-Stands using a baby pin adapter making them very easy to rig for a shot.

Best Bang For Buck Tubes in this price range
This is my Honest Review as a Gaffer and DP.I first purchased this 4ft tube a few months ago when it was on sale just to try it out, and I'm so Glad I did that I bought another one!!!! I have Used Different Brands of Tubes Onset and these are the most pleasurable I have worked with so far, I have compared them to other tubes that i've own and they come through where others drop the ball. The First thing I love about them is the Battery Readout is very accurate (Unlike the Pavotubes which don't even have a battery meter), I wished they would give you a low battery warning, the light just shuts off when the battery dies.Secondly is the diffusion is very good on these and don't show the LED's through the tubes (as opposed to the Godox TL-60's) also these don't really disconnect as frequent when using app control like the godox's tend to do. They are also a little brighter than the Pavotubes from my experience which is a plus when shooting High frame rates (No- Flicker as well). I won't get into all the effects as they're pretty standard with what comes with most RGB tubes today. The colors are pretty much spot on when using the HSI mode and the CCT mode has a Green/Magenta shift that actually WORKS!!!! (some other tubes i've used has this feature but it does nothing). Now not all tubes are created equally with all it's praise there are some drawbacks of these lights that i'd like to see addressed in maybe a future version. The first is the controls are a bit finicky with the dual knob system, it takes some getting used to as i often find myself turning the wrong dial when trying to change a setting, i wish there were just dedicated buttons to change the settings.Secondly is the LCD screen really isn't that bright and sometimes a little hard to read in certain lighting conditions.third is if you want to lay these tubes on the floor at an angle you have to use the included clips to do so otherwise they just roll and face upward by default, maybe this has something to do with the internal battery balance of the tube. and lastly a decent warning system when the battery is dying, like a slow fade or a double flash system. But If those things aren't a deal breaker for you then I'd Say Get 2 of these tubes and add them to your kit ( trust me once you get one you'll find yourself wanting a second) I plan to add a few more to my kit in the future.

Best budget 4ft rgb tube light
Best budget 4ft rgb tube light. Could not decide between chameleon or nanlite, happy i went with the chameleon. When receiving the chameleon came within 2 days, packaging was amazing from the start with digital photo packaging. The chameleon works great especially w the RGBLED apple app. Very powerful light well worth the money colors, effects, etc very bright, light is on 1% out of 100% brightness in photos, as the light is very powerful. Did my research on tube lights before purchasing, no the light does not have internal moving, charger is good quality, everything is good quality honestly all around great tube light especially for streamers. Used the tube light for 15 hours on already still not dead. Thank you DF DIGITALFOTO.
