Love the ambiance created by the light!
This was the third purchase of the light. The first was the green one that I had for years of constant use. I also have a red one and now with this purchase a blue one. The quality is fantastic and as mentioned good for years and years of use. My only wish is for a clear one but they don’t make one that I know of.

There is a reason these went from 99.99 to 19.99!
I went to Six Flags last weekend. They had something that looked like these shown on the sidewalk. I was like....oh wow...that is a really cool idea! Six Flags is by no means dark. I live in the woods. Each house is far enough away that you have to yell to your neighbors. It gets DARK here. I maybe, possibly could do one little bush with one of these. It would need to be about 5, no more than 10 feet away for it to show any lights no matter which setting I use. The concept is great. The build is great...these things are heavy and all metal. The design is great. The laser is weak. Think of a laser pointer...the kind you can pick up for 10 bucks? Or a gun laser. This is weaker by far than the little one. They would need something similiar to what is on a gun laser for it to show 30 feet. I'm returning the red and green one I bought. Very disappointed. This one I have to keep because I opened the box. Glad I didn't spend 99 dollars on it though. Great product and build...just a really cruddy and cheap laser that ruins is. I'd rather have cheap plastic and a good laser.

NIce blue static star projector for dark areas
Nice product that you can adjust the number of stars. Blue output appears "dimmer" than its green equvalent due to our eye's higher sensitivity to green light. Adjusting to fewer blue stars (100s vs 1000s) brings up the brightness of the individual stars but lessens the star field effect. At the "100s" of stars level the brightness is very good and can be used with other lights. To be laser eye safe the low number of stars setting with higher indiidual star brightness must be within a safety threshold value - this limits the laser source total output. So creating more stars wiith the same laser power lowers the individual star brightness. At the higher # of blue stars setting the projector works well in very dark areas. If you have other lights around it does take away from the effect so plan accordingly. For this price point I would have preferred a denser and brighter star field that was still still eye safe (i.e., higher power source) and would give up the number of stars adjustment. So 3.5 stars instead of 5.0.

Really neat light for the first few times used
I bought the blue one and really like the light. It is really neat to have shining up into a tree. The things I think that could have been better are first the packaging. Mine arrived and all corners of the box were mashed. It did not affect the light but it looked more like a used product instead of a new one. The other thing that would make this better would be a right angle mount. The mount hole comes out of the side of the light and the cord comes out of the base. If there was a right angle connector of some sort to go from the light to the adjustable arm piece the light would be better. Ended up making my own mount for it instead.Second year using it the light is too dim. Outside in the dark it was visible for less than a couple of feet. Price is now more than double what I paid for it.Can't recommend.

One dud, one good
I ordered two. The first I took out of the package barely lit up my palm. Few inches from the fixture, in the dark. I thought they were just woefully underpowered, but decided to try the second before I sent back. It lit up super bright!! I guess the first was just a dud, hopefully the replacement is good. My only gripe is the grid pattern...it is so regular it takes away from it. These really look best on very irregular surfaces to give a more broken up organic look. I’m going to shine them at the palm trees.
