Nice, but…
Empire 6” combination square metric.Wow, most were surprised this little beauty was metric. I was intentionally searching out metric and received one marked in inches only. It arrived in a Home Depot box.Its mfgr’s package wrap has an e255. I see one of the videos has an e255M. The M must be for metric.Five stars is for the square. The packager/shipper gets one. It’s going back. How do I order another that is metric?Darn!

Excelent product
You know how lots of times you buy stuff that is just garbage ? You know, these things that look like garbage, feel like garbage and perform like garbage.Well,This is isn't one of them. The moment you grab one, you just FEEL the quality. Its sturdy and accurate, what more can you ask for from this type of tool ?Regarding people complaining about this being metric and having a misleading title, come on .... its called :"Empire Level E255M 6-Inch Pocket Combination Square With Stainless Steel Blade, Metric Graduations and True Blue Vial"METRIC, it says in the product name its METRIC, its not in the fine print, its right there in the title. How is this misleading ?Update:I purchased this product and have been using it for about 6 months and suddenly got paranoid it may not be completely square. After all if your square isnt square then your saw isnt square and your cuts arent square and .... well everything you are making wont turn out.So, I found a nice simple way to check it for square very accurately (google it) and I did.I am happy to say the Empire was DEAD SQUARE. I did however find that another fixed square I had was off and threw it to the garbage. So, still 5 stars.(btw, if you really do feel the urge to buy the 100$s one, go on. Im sure its super craftsmanship and thats something I do appreciate. Personally I`d rather save the 85$ for something else.

Took some tuning
I like this better than my 12 inch combination square since a) I've switched to metric, but more importantly b) because I rarely use more than a few cm on my combination square. This size is much more manageable than the full length version. However, this was not perfectly square out of the box. Extending the ruler to max length and drawing a line up the spine and flipping the square to align markings showed a one mm gap at 14-15 cm out!Easy enough to fix, so docked half star.Other half star is due to non-smooth sliding of the ruler through the clamping jaw, even when fully loose. Ok, I'll say the tolerances are too tight, which is good, but other combo squares have slid easier. No regrets though.

Works great. I didn't pay attention when I ordered it, I don't use metric. Still great though

Empire as always made a fantastic tool!
I keep this tool in my apron every day in my workshop and reach for it about 20 times or more and it’s never loose or flimsy, the numbers are easy to read, and every mark is easily seen as doesn’t wear !Empire is the only brand I use, because of the quality, but mostly because they’re made here in the USA!

Nice small combo square
This is a nice small combination square for getting into tight places that the 12 inchers can't get. I have to figure the thing will pay for itself in easing frustration. I got this and the twelve inch combo square in metric because now that I have the Makita Track Saw that has the blade depth gauge in metric it just makes sense to use a square in the same number system. I always liked metric better anyway, one, two, three, four... well easy for my old head to remember the fractions are getting fractional for memorizing these days.So for an inexpensive yet serviceable Metric Combination Square these do the trick for me.
