I needed to replace a gauge in my "antique" car, a 1988 model. The reason I noted "antique" is because the state that I live in considers all vehicles "antique" when they're 30 years old or older. Maybe because the median age of the state's residents are well beyond antique, but I digress!Using the manufacturer's repair guide, I learned that a special set of "dealership only" removal hooks were required to remove the instrument cluster from the gauge pod. The repair guide even listed the dealer's part number for these special tools. I searched online, and to my surprise, they were still available - for $49 USD.I thought for a while, as I normally do - then decided to see if there was a "generic" equivalent to the special tools. I copied and pasted the part number into Amazon's search box, pressed <enter>, then sorted by Prime Delivery and Average Rating, quickly read the comments and purchased this well-made set of "Bolaxin Instrument Cluster Removal Pulling Hooks" for 80% less than the brand-name set. Got the job done, saved money, and couldn't be happier!

Used one of these to pull the vents to get to the radio on my Porsche. Had to put a little extra bend to grab the inside of the vent. I wouldn’t try the same job with trim tools which I have. Well worth the costs.

I tried it and it didn't work for me. The hook didn't hooked well and it kept slipping..

Ummm you can not do it without these tools.. and they work and they are cheap !!
