Good Motor
Good inexpensive 1/2 HP electric motor. It works great as a replacement motor for my WindMaster 42 whole house fan.The install was easy if you have ever installed an electric motor before.I don't understand why some reviewers complain there are no instructions on how to reverse the motor. I saw the instructions to swap the red and black wires to reverse BOTH on the printed instructions page, and written on the metal label on the side of the motor itself. You can even see these instructions if you zoom in on the product image. :-)

Purchased this motor in early December to replace a similar motor on a wood lathe. Physically the motor bolted in with no issues and worked well. It was used lightly until today when a bearing seized in the motor. Have initiated warranty proceedings with Amazon. Perhaps it was just an iffy bearing.UPDATE - Amazon has responded to the issue SPLENDIDLY. Less than a day after submitting the initial email, the RMA process was begun. The next day (today) the replacement motor was delivered. Many many kudos to Amazon for making every effort to resolve this quickly and easily. On a related note, as part of the process for shipping the problem motor back for RMA, I dismounted the motor from my lathe and found that what appeared to be a seized bearing was mostly caused by the pulley being jammed hard up against the motor casing. After eventually getting the jammed pulley off of the shaft, I did notice that the shaft, while it DID turn, it didn't turn as freely as it should. There IS tightness, so perhaps there is still some internal issue... just not the main issue. I am therefore re-considering my 2-star rating and changing it to a 5 star rating.

worked great for two months, then conked out
This was a replacement motor for my furnace blower when that conked out right before a really cold snap. It was just as pictured and described and fit perfectly where the old motor had been. It's been getting a good workout with the cold, winter weather, so I'm really happy with how it is performing.EDIT from 5 stars to 1. It quit working after about two months. Bad thermal switch.

Product seems to be of good quality
Product seemed to be okay the box looked like they airdropped it without a parachute. Like it was used as a soccer ball.

Works well.
Customer service sucks with this product. I had a simple question and I had to get the answer from somewhere else. I bought this last yr 2023 and it's 2024 and I'm still waiting for an email or phone call.

Nice little motor
Purchased this motor to power a small homebrew drum sander, and it is working great for this purpose. It was easy to install, it has a sufficiently sturdy mount, and it's simple to wire and set for the needed direction of rotation. We'll see how it holds up with continued use, but it appears to be a nice product and a good buy.

Difficult to wire, Impossible to use, expensive to return
This is a review of the Century GF2054 1/2hp motor as sold byEarth Sense Energy Systems ('Pellethead.com')This unit was purchased to replace a motor on a Whole-House Attic Fan.The motor does NOT come with a strain relief for the wire. The wire entrance IS threaded, but the thread is not compatible with the standard 1/2" NM clamps. In addition, the opening for the wiring compartment is smaller that it should be.One of the connecting poles is nestled very close to the edge of the opening, making it VERY challenging to attach the wire. There also is NO ground connection in the wiring compartment. The ground wire connection MUST be made outside of the motor. The final problem was that the motor is about 1/2" too long to fit in my attic fan assembly, making this device unusable for this application.I will also mention that the vendor (Earth Sense Energy Systems) does NOT pay for return shipping of defective or incompatible items. They also charge a 20% restocking fee!
