Kyoto Double Linen Cabinet

Well, the one star is for the fact my bathing suits areout of my laundry basket. It had a horrible shipping time frame, that's fine. It showed up and the box was ripped open and pieces were hanging out. That is not there fault, I understand.The item is sooo flimsy. The instructional pictures were not very clear. It took a couple hours to put together, Ikea furniture is easier to put together. You for sure need the wall anchor, I mean even if you have no kids. Wish it had a couple more shelves. Or shelf options. Overall... ehhh.

Love that once assmbled this attached to the wall at the top so it can't be knocked over as it is very tall.THis looks like a built in in the front bath. I needed extra storage and had only a narrow area to put it. I may cover the opening of the louvers, an easy fix.The hardest part is putting all the connecting screw bolts. I found it easier to use a pair of pliers to keep them going in straight instead of a phillips head screwdriver. I took one day just to do this and came back for the assembly part the next day-less aggravation and hand stress.I saved putting the doors on for a third day. Put the doors on the kitchen counter and put the hinges on, laid the cabinet in the floor with my husband's help. Put something under the door to bring it to the cainet height-some cardboard from the shipping box and screwed the hinges onto the cabinet, last piece in the bottom that makes the bottom of the cabinet and we moved it into the bathroom.

I needed a slim cabinet to fit between a wall and my wall heater, and didn't look too cheesy.The way my place is set up, this doesn't look too cheesy....hey, don't be hatin'...Putting it together was the typical chore, not great fun, but not unusually tedious or tragic. One of the metal plates for the magnets didn't get put on because the screw broke, but it doesn't seem to make much difference. Also one of the screw holes seemed to be misaligned, so there's a bump inside the cabinet, but nobody can tell and it doesn't do any harm. They did include a strap kit so you can secure it to the wall, keeping it from falling over in an earthquake.It works as designed, holds my linens without complaint, and functions well. At first the doors didn't want to stay closed, but they have since settled in without my having to modify anything.I took off a star because, as I mentioned, this is sitting close to a heater, and it behooves me to ensure I don't put flammable products close enough to make things exciting. One of the reasons I bought this is because it was supposed to be a certain size, however the size on this site was INCORRECT!It was supposed to be about 12" wide according to the measurements on this site, as well as the Q&A from the vendor. Instead it is about 15" wide. They've since changed it, so instead of leaving one star, I'm fining them one.Turns out this works. I used an IR thermometer to ensure it didn't get hot, so I'm not worried about it. I may sound paranoid, but there's bad blood between fire and I.Anywho, if you need a linen cabinet, and this looks good to you, go for it!Highly Recommend!

You won't be passing this down to your kids unless they are about to move out and you want to get rid of some stuff under the guise of settling them in.Pros: I live in a house with nary a linen closet. Now I have an looking cabinet to hold towels, cleaning supplies, sheets, etc.Cons: The assembly diagrams are not detailed. You can figure out most of it easily enough based on the characteristics of each piece (feet, no feet, actually has identifying sticker). I ran into problems when I attached the hinges. The diagram is small and not detailed, so you can tell that it's a hinge by its ID number but not which way to attach it. I ended up putting the hinges on three different times, 3 different ways (it's possible, trust me). So take the time to mock it up fully before you start drilling in screws. The metal quality is poor- some of them stripped and some of them just broke in the wood. Also, some of the white painted pieces looked scuffed, like it might have been assembled before, but the scuffs aren't visible from the outside.One reviewer mentioned that the hinge location bumps into a shelf. I had the same problem, because the shelf appears to be symmetrical but one face is actually deeper than the other. Make sure that points backward. I pried the cabinet open and switched the shelf direction in place, but I totally risked busting the entire thing in doing so.Final note: the piece is very tall and narrow. Equipment is included to attach this to the back wall. I'd recommend using it if you're in an earthquake prone area, or you have kids or pets that might climb/bump it.

Terrible. This item arrived in a damaged box and as we suspected once we opened the box, the pieces were damaged or defective. An awful experience. We waited more than a week to receive it and then the disappointment.The whole experience does not deserve a star at all.

I feel like raving about this item even though it's only a rather simple wooden cabinet (white) with slatted doors in what I consider to be a rather odd (narrow) size. It is PERFECT for my bathroom, hiding the fact that my children can not keep a stack of folded towels tidy to save their lives... this tucks them away, unseen, and the slatted wood doors makes the piece look much better and more 'built in' than a mere cabinet. It fits into a very odd, jutted corner space in my bathroom and holds 4 shelves of bath and hand towels -- that's a lot! I love it! Easy to put together. Very reasonable price. I'm thrilled I found this!
