This is a great product for recording LPs
I was using BIAS SoundSaver Express on a Windows 7 machine to digitize my old vinyl albums. However I built myself a new PC and put Windows 8 on it. I loved SoundSaver Express because of its ease of use, but it wouldn't let me renew on my new computer and so I was out of luck, researched products available and tried record gold but nothing really did the job. In spite of all the negative reviews, I decided to give Audio Cleaning Lab 2013 a try. I figured the worst that could happen is that I would be out $30. I am extremely happy with this software, It cleans much better than SoundSaver Express and my music really sounds incredibly good. Especially in light of the fact that some of my albums are almost 50 years old. The only drawback is that it doesn't allow me to name the tracks before they are saved and I have to use an mp3 tag editor to enter the track information. Oh, well you can't get everything for $30. Unfortunately, the sound of my recordings with audio cleaning lab is so much improved that I now find myself wanting to go back and re-record the LPs I've already digitized.

Very Pleased with 2013 Version.
Previously used 2005 version of Cleaning Lab for several years, but had to update to 2013 due to getting a Windows 7 system, this new version is much easier to use and does a much better job of cleaning vinyl recordings so I'm happy I had to upgrade.

Worst Product Ever
I have used audio cleaning programs for a while now. The oldr ones were fairly easy to use. This one is not. Documentation is on par with Microsoft, in otherwords dismal. The only hope you will have of learning how to use this is to find a user group on line. I have to wonder where programmers learn their trade. The instructions are useless, fortuneatley the installlation is like most programs, click and ignore. That is where the simplicity ends. The major problems are:1. Once you import an audio track, the cleaning tools are nice and once you figure them out you can clean a track. Do not import an album a side at a time. While it is easy to trim off the unwanted ends, trying to mark the tracks to seperate them????? The key board short cut is M. This does nothing.2. Advancing through a set of songs??? The only way I have found is to press and hold the fast forward. Trying to drag to playback line is a major pain.Save your oney and down load Audacity. They at least have user groups where you can find out how to use the software. And it is Free.

Really Disappointed
I have used Magix Audio Cleaning Lab (versions 11 and 12) products for over 10 years and was very pleased with them. This was on a PC running Windows XP. Since Microsoft no longer supports XP I bought a new PC running Windows 8.1 Pro (64 bit) and the earlier versions will not load on it. I bought this version thinking it would continue to be as good or better than the old versions; but not true. It has so many automatic settings that override my manual settings that the music I try to record is so irritating to listen to that I had to uninstall the product. I am currently trying out some free programs called Audacity and WavePad that to this point are much better than this version of Magix. That's too bad because I really liked the older versions.

This product works!
The software is very easy to use and has features that I need and nothing more. I suggest that you purchase through Amazon or another online store. Do not purchase directly from Magix. Magis is located in Germany and getting one-on-one support is almost non-existing. Unless, you don't mind paying for an international phone call. Establishing an account surmounts to a climb to Mt. Everest. This product works!

Still The Best Program
I have used the older version for around 15 years and loved it. I use it for audio tapes, vinyl records,You Tube, to burn to CD's. When I got a new computer with windows 8 the old program would not work, so I upgraded. The new version has some better features, but is still the same easy program to use. Very easy to edit and copy your music.

Disappointing: incompatible with my digital recorder's WAV files
I have a small recorder that saves files in .WAV format, a format that MAGIX claims to support. I needed to clean them up and save as MP3. Unfortunately, even though Windows Media Player plays my recordings just fine, MAGIX can't read them. I opened a support ticket, and Support was able to reproduce the issue, and said there is no time line to address the problem. They suggested installing an unfamiliar .EXE file onto my computer first and then running the WAV file through it before bringing it into MAGIX. However, I'm not willing to install an unfamiliar program from a foreign language site onto my machine for obvious reasons. MAGIX was a complete waste of money, as Amazon has a "no refunds" policy for software and this software is not compatible with my .WAV files, even though it claims to support the format. Definitely disappointing.

I think it;s getting worse
I have used Audio Cleaning Lab for over ten years and was quite happy with my old version but couldn't install it on my new operating system. I purchased this one and after a couple of weeks of use I'm totally disappointed with the result. It is more complicated, less flexible, and the sound quality of effects and tweaks seems inferior to my much older version. BTW, I use it mainly for making CDs from old tapes and vinyl.
