Marble Mortar with Pestle Set 4.5x2.5 inch, Natural Stone Surface Polished for Easy Cleaning, Heavy/Durable/Elegant (White)(Premium Quality)

This is made from thick, beautiful marble. The outside is highly polished, and the inside is rough for better grinding. It has a rubber base to protect countertops and prevent slipping. It also has plenty of mass which keeps it from moving around while grinding spices. It's the kind of thing you can use for a lifetime and then pass on to the next generation. I also have a marble pastry board made by the same company and the quality is top notch on that too.

Beautifully finished, with an appropriate sized pestle. I like to mix a bit extra adobo seasoning, (garlic powder, oregano, salt and pepper) when prepping a roasted chicken, and this combo is exactly what I wanted. The measure in inches is slightly useful, but the description saying it holds about 1.5 cups was spot on for me. Marble is what I have had for years, and I had downsized to porcelain some time back, which was a struggle, and not my favorite. This is heavy enough, but movable. Since I dont use it for anything other than my dry herbs and spices, cleaning a slightly textured marble mortar is easier than a rough granite (which I have a larger one of, for larger batches of homemade sugar free taco seasoning).This mortar and pestle means business, heavy enough to work efficiently, so dont try to keep it on a narrow shelf above your stove!

Works like it should and easy to clean

I like everything about it. Just the right size to mash garlic ( makes it like a paste if you want), and add to the food. Much more tasteful ( releases the juice), than using the garlic press. I make about 1/3 full of paste ( use a whole 🧄, and mix it over home made French fries straight from the pan ). Delicious. You can mix it in mayonnaise ( but you add even more fat), and make a dip, or mix it in butter, to make a spread.

I love this mortar and pestle! The only thing is you may want to “beat” it empty because little pieces chipped off the pestle for some reason. I’m glad I caught it prior to putting my food in it. Other than that it’s good and sturdy!

I love the weight and smoothness of the bowl, and the weight of the pestle feels just right. Even though I'm currently just displaying it, I will be using it when I use my home-grown herbs in different recipes. Very beautiful piece also.
