Hot water instantly in a 3=story home.
Easy to install and instantly gratifying. I actually bought this pump for 2 reasons. One to have instant hot water and secondly, to have circulation on the North side of my 3 story home overlooking a bluff that gets so cold on a winter night that the pipes freeze if we get below 20 degrees. This pump cured both problems: a long wait for warm water and freezing pipes.

Probably No Need for the Adjustable Thermostat
Installation was extremely easy, but be sure to also purchase two(2) of the hoses that you see in the Purchased With section. Installing the clamp took as long as installing the pump, maybe longer. I would recommend installing the clamp first after being sure the pump will fit in it after it is installed. Since all the pumps come with a preset 95- degree shut-off and a 91-degree turn-on, the adjustable thermostat is only necessary for adjusting the turn-on temperature at less than 91 degrees. One reviewer said that the adjustment was for hotter water, but that's not been the case. The timer was not needed either as I hooked it up to a digital switch and am able to set a schedule with my iPhone or turn it off without going under the sink.

Defective
The product was clearly defective...the pump operated intermittently...had to return the device...

Works better in winter
For almost 25 years we've put up with a water heater located in the attic about 50 feet from the kitchen sink (who designs these houses, anyway?!). This little pump has made a big difference (I was surprised how small it is). In the past we had to run the water seemingly forever to get hot water, then it wasn't that hot unless the water heater was turned all the way up, and it would get cold as soon as the faucet was turned off. Now we get hot water within a few seconds. I can't tell any difference in the electric bill, either. It's nice that it can be set to come on at certain water temperatures and time of day, instead of running constantly. On the negative side, because it recirculates, the cold water stays much warmer now that it's summer so we are running the cold side longer and using a lot more ice. It also seems to have a few quirks in that on occasion it doesn't kick on and the hot water isn't as hot. That's possibly due to the ambient water temperature being about even with the sensor setting needed to turn on, so we've reset the water heater higher in the summer (so the cold water stays even warmer). The motor is not very loud but I can hear it running down in the sink cupboard when I'm within a few feet. It was pretty easy to install but it uses a pipe fitting, not a compression fitting.

REPLACEMENT NOT AVAILABLE YET - BIG PAIN - IMPELLER BROKE
Word of Wisdom...open and inspect pump before installing. Still may be issue, but important. Within days of installing the pump, my wife commented that it was loud. Go figure (had it on timer and she was there when it energized). I turned it on and immediately turned off due to noise. Took out and found part of impeller broke off and was being banged around in the pump (see picture--cheap plastic)--expected better considering cost. Also the timer tabs get changed every time I operate the switch. [Agree with the person who questioned why not digital.] Pump is an overall good idea and works to speed up warm water. I am not sorry I ordered it so this would have been a 5 if impeller had not broken AND still would have been a 4 if the replacement had been delivered before I had to remove the bracket--bang my head, again--and buy parts to act as a stop gap to allow use of my kitchen until the replacement ever arrives. STILL NO ESTIMATE AT ALL.So I called it in for a replacement on August 20 and was informed out of stock and on back order for ones with thermostat like mine...now September 16 and no information on when will be sent. Waited to pull old one out so I did not have to pull down the bracket under the sink. Due to send back by Monday September 19, so had to pull it out. Now will have to re-drill holes for mounting bracket (not fun under sink). Also had to buy two male connectors that would connect the 1/2" and 3/8" inch hoses while I wait for the new pump to arrive. Cost was $8 for the two connectors because had to buy two packs (each pack had a 1/2 to 3/8 and a 3/8 to 3/8 connected--last one will never be used by me but there you go)Hopefully its impeller will be intact and I won't have to send it back.

Somewhat dissapointed, quite motor but immediate hot water is overstated
Pump was received without ANY literature telling how to hook up, how to program timer etc. Hooked up the pump but I am dissapointed in the 'immediate' hot water, waiting time is somewhat less but certainly isn't immediate as expected.

so this is the second one I installed because I was so pleased with the first Laing AutoCirc I purchased
I have two hot water systems in my house, so this is the second one I installed because I was so pleased with the first Laing AutoCirc I purchased. Both pumps have worked great once installed, really reduces hot water time to the source selected and here in California it is a real water saver.

no water heater dont buy
you need a hot water heater for it to work properly, so don't buy it if you don't have one.
