My favorite color pens for Adult Coloring Books and Doodle/Zentangle Art.
Sharpie Ultra-Fine Point pens are nice and juicy and last well. My favorite for adding color to my doodle/zentangle art, or relaxing with some "big girl color books" as my niece calls them. It's fantastic how many colors they come in these days. I've tried a LOT of ultra fine point markers for this purpose. I'm something of a pen connoisseur actually. I'm always on the look out for a new pen. What I find all too often is that the nibs are too rough and damage the paper, especially on my doodle/zentangle art, and the sketch paper is rougher and easier to ball up than a coloring book's smooth sheets. These don't ever do that. You would have to scrub pretty hard to get them to.Down sides? 1) They tend to bleed through, unless the paper is really thick, so you don't want to use them on any double sided pages, unless you're willing to sacrifice the opposite page. If you're not, then definitely test before you use. I also tend to keep a blank sheet of printer paper between the back of the page I'm working on and the next page, just to be sure. 2) I have clear favorites, and I haven't been able to find those colors for sale individually. I really wish I could, because I'm loathe to buy more big packs until I use up some more of the other pens.

Perfect for Adult Coloring Books
These are the best markers for use in adult coloring books. All the rich, bold colors and the ultra-fine tip allows me to color the most minute and highly detailed designs. I especially enjoy the style of tips on these pens that allow for the ink to flow exactly where I put it with no bleed and no fraying of the tip causing color to drag outside the lines. So, these pens work beautifully for the mandalas and other intricate designs which are my favorites. The only downside is that the ink bleeds pretty heavily so do not use them in books with designs on both sides of the page. You will also need a scrap page to keep bleed-thru off the following page. The only other very minor issue is that the cap colors are not always indicative of the actual ink color. But once they have been used, you get used to the what the actual colors are. All in all these pens are great and I highly recommend them to adult coloring book enthusiasts.

My favorite markers for coloring
I wrote another review about neon Sharpies, and as I said there, I really love coloring adult coloring books with Sharpies. The colors are always so bold and saturated, and they don't leave the streaky marker look that other regular markers leave when you have to overlap where you've colored or whatever. The one problem is that they do bleed, of course, so just remember to put a paper between the page you are coloring and the next one so that it doesn't bleed onto the next page. So, I love these ultra fine point markers. I got the big set with lots of colors because I knew I'd make use of them all, and the colors are actually a variety. I know with some sets of markers, the caps may be different but the colors are too similar to bother needing both, but that's not the case with these. This set also came with the special 80s Glam set of colors, so that was a nice addition too. My only wish is that I could get the neon colors in these ultra fine point markers! The best part about the ultra fine point is that you have a lot more control when coloring. The normal tip Sharpies are great for coloring, but once they hit the paper, they bloom so the color spreads from where you originally put it to somewhere you may have not wanted it to be. The ultra fine point Sharpies help solve this problem. They do spread a tiny bit, but not much at all, so they are overall my favorite markers to use for coloring. All I want is more colors!

Works Great with Adult Coloring Books, Very Little Bleed Through with Thick Paper
I purchased the Sharpie Ultra-Fine Markers to use in the fine lines of my adult coloring books. This set offers a nice range of colors and the caps stay on tightly (but not too tight - they're not difficult to remove), and they do not dry out too fast. The ink absorbs just right on thicker coloring book pages, yet it takes a lot for it to bleed through to the back unless you're using thinner paper (see last two photos). What's also nice is that the ink is archival and acid-free, so I do not have to worry if I happen to use them for scrapbooking.Even when coloring larger areas, it is hard to see any streaks. The performance of this set is re"mark"able compared to some of the more expensive sets. Also, they do not have an obtrusive smell like some of the Marks A Lot markers from the past, so if you are fragrance-sensitive, there is no need to worry about an issues when using these markers. The price is lower than any of my local chain craft stores!

Good quality
Purchased as a gift for a teacher and she has commented on the boldness of the colors and variety. It's now been an annual xmas gift for the past 10 years!

Nice Colors, Bleed Through
I have always enjoyed Sharpies because they write easily, so when I saw the 80s glam package, I was really excited to get a variety of colors. The 24 pack of 80s glam Sharpies has the 8 basic colors (black, brown, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple), but the other colors are very interesting. You can tell from the picture how the colors look--they are a variety of pinks, blues, greens, and orange-yellow markers.)The colors are lovely, and I have never minded the smell of Sharpies, but some people have said that they find Sharpies pretty smelly. Additionally, they do bleed through the page. I had also known this about Sharpies before I bought these, so I was not disappointed, but if you are looking for a pen or marker that doesn't bleed through the paper, you probably won't like these. If you don't mind the strong smell of Sharpies and the bleeding through, though, the colors are lovely and the price is good. I saw the same package at Wal-mart for about $15.30, so the price on Amazon is comparable or a tiny bit better.
