Noisy device
This product has a major flaw. The fan is loud, annoying and noisy. I even bought a 6 Ft cable to place the device away from my absolutely silent 2021 iMac, but even so the noise is annoying. Even though you set the drives to sleep, There is no way to stop the fan except for unplugging the unit from the Mac. It is a major flaw of this enclosure and an absolute deal breaker for a device at this price range. I have many other external HDD, even double HDD setups which are whisper quiet. This one is awful. My bad for not reading reviews elsewhere complaining about this issue. Contacted OWC support and they say there is nothing to do about setting the fans to sleep when the drives are idle, just unplugging the unit. Will never buy again external enclosures or external drives setups from OWC
