Excellent Low Profile Jack
I purchased this jack because of it lift range 3.5" - 18.5". Due to the jack points on my Jeep. I needed something that had a range over 17". This lift just accommodates that requirement. It being low profile is not necessary for the Jeep, however, you never know if you might need it for something else that you may need the low profile for.Pros:- Appears to be solidly constructed- Steel wheels- Can release or raise the jack from any handle position- Hydraulic Pump lifts the jack easilyCons:- Heavy (Relate to your standard in-car jack)- Retaining Wire can be tricky to removeThis jack has performed well in all the uses that I have needed it for. I have a lifted Jeep Wrangler that has 35" tires and I used the jack to rotation the tires. As well as, install an upgraded suspension. The lift works great. It raises with minimal pumping and lifts extremely well. When the jack is delivered, there is a retaining wire installed to keep the jack from accidentally raising during shipping. This took me a little time to figure out how to remove. There are really no instructions with the exception of the warning document that tells you to remove it before use. After several attempts at man handling the wire with little success. I decided to remove the bolt that the under portion of the wire was on. This bolt was not retaining any part of mechanism other than stability and strength of the jack at that area. Since it was not under pressure I decided it was safe to remove. Once the bolt was removed, the wire was released and I replaced the bolt back into its original position. The jack pumps up standard to any jack I have used of the same type. I found this jack easy to use. Twist handle Clockwise to set for lifting. Turn handle Counter-Clockwise to release. I have read reviews reporting that when you try to slowly release the pressure that the vehicle only releases to the ground. I have no such issues, I can feather the jack down a little if I need, in order to set a little pressure on the tire for instance, to tighten the lag nuts. I have no problems at all adjusting the height slightly up or down.Jack has taken on several projects since I purchased it and shows no signs of wear. It was shipped without damage and I love having this tool in my garage. Just what I was expecting. Great Jack !!!

Steel to first time Aluminum Jack
I did a ton of research to determine which low profile floor jack to buy. I had been using a big and heavy steel floor jack for years and finally bought this one. I had tried some of my friends Aluminum floor jacks that advertise that it only takes a few pumps to lift the car to full height. Have you tried these jacks? I have and they take a ton of weight to push town on the handle to lift the car. I'm not a NASCAR pit crew that is jumping on the handle and worried about 10 pumps or 3 pumps to full lift. I wanted the hydraulic advantage of my old steel jack, a lighter jack, and one that is truly low profile for my 350Z. On my steel jack, the hydraulic advantage is so good I can jack up my car with only one half of the handle in the jack. (by the way, it's over 34 years old on the original oil and still going strong!) My garage is pretty tight so it is really helpful to use only one half of the handle when jacking up the car. So, this jack is really impressive. The pictures don't do it justice on how well made it is. They really need to add more super high resolution photo's. The video helps a lot to see how well built this jack is. It has a great hydraulic advantage so you do not need to put your full body weight on the handle to jack the car up. I only use one half of the handle when jacking my car up in my cramped garage space on the sides. I can easily jack the car up with no issues. It's low enough profile for my 350Z that is very low to the ground. On my steel jack, I had removed the cast iron jacking cup/plate in order to get it low enough for my 350Z. This jack easily fits under my car as-is. It does not jack your car up in 3 pumps with you jumping on the handle with all of your weight and that is not what I wanted to buy. The hydraulic release works great and it easily lowers the car in a very controlled manner. My only constructive comment is that this jack is so well made that it is not very light. I was really struggling with deciding if I wanted a 3 ton, 2 ton, or 1.5 ton jack. I wanted to take it to the track and was hoping it would be pretty light weight. I never weighed my old steel jack but all I can say is this jack is not obviously a lot lighter than my old jack. This is a big, strong, and heavy duty jack so if you are looking for a super light weight jack that is really portable this is probably not it. I still love this jack but I'm now thinking about getting a much lighter Aluminum jack for the track weekends. Lastly, I know when I was debating this versus other jacks the warranty wasn't as good. I think ARCAN needs to improve their warranty to be more competitive. I read a lot of reviews on other websites and decided this was the jack for me even though the warranty wasn't as good. It looks like tons of folks are making lower cost Aluminum jacks that have problems after 1-2 years of use. I'm counting on it being built well enough that I don't need the warranty but it would be nice for ARCAN to back up the product with a better warranty.
