Answer this call. Great phone!
If you need a new landline (more people than you think still use them) this is a good choice. I purchased it to replace another brand that did not keep a charge well and I found that I had difficulty hearing. This phone answers those (pun intended.) The battery life is great and the sound quality is a vast improvement to what I struggled with previously. My sons have actually noticed that I do not need them to repeat themselves so much now. I was unsure about the need for the second line addition but I was wrong. Now I do not know how I did without it for so long. Great quality and connectivity. The handset weight is perfect. Large enough to see the number and call missed information, but comfortable enough to be able to use for even the longest call. I find I have an improved range for the phone. Allows for me to even use it on my front porch. Reasonable price. Easy to set up even for those not "tech savvy." This phone arrives quickly. The neutral color allows for a great look in my library/office as well as the living room where the second handset lives.

Easy to set up and use
I bought these AT&t phones through Amazon warehouse. This was my first experience using Amazon warehouse and I was really pleased and surprised. The telephones were listed as like new and they truly were. The box had absolutely no damage and it appeared that had never even been opened. The plastic cellophane was on the handsets the batteries were unopened and unused and everything was flawless. I don't believe anybody ever touched these phones except for me and that somebody just changed their mind and returned them for whatever reason. As for the phones themselves this is a tremendous set because you get three phones and an answering machine. My old phone that I had bought an emergency was not expandable and I did not realize that at the time. Since I live in a house with two floors it was a pain in the neck to have to keep running up and down the stairs when the phone rang so now I have three like I am accustomed to from the past and it is so much easier. To set these up was a breeze. Everything was very self-explanatory so I didn't even have to use the little self-help manual that teaches you what to do. It was very easy to set the volume the time and to record my own message although there is a pre-recorded message available if you choose to use it.The phones have big numbers on them so it's easier to see for us older folks and they're all backflip which is a plus. My old phone didn't even have a speaker phone so how basic is that. There are times and you really need to put somebody on speaker phone and this phone also has an intercom system so that you can have more than one person on listening at a time or you can go and use the other phone and pick up and finish your conversation from one floor to the next from one phone to the next. So far I am really pleased at the quality of these phones. They are lightweight compared to the older phones but that is to be expected these days. Everything seems to be made much later weight. I don't know how long they will last but the AT&t has always been a good brand and I hope that these will last me for many years.

Not As Easy To use
No other brand mentioned that was my favorite and I decided to go to the AT&T kind of phones. I found it more difficult to use for deleting messages than my older set that was needing replaced. My new phone set is basic; it's all I really want or need from a phone; easy to use and functional. Just not so easy as the older set and that's the only reason I didn't rate it as highly as my review. It's a bit more difficult for me to play messages from the 2nd handset. Still learning though progress is slow. Yes, a booklet came with the set and has pictures too. I've never had as much trouble catching on to this new set of directions by comparison to the older phone set. It rings in and I can call out, but do not appreciate other features to me that is difficult to grasp.

Works OK, but annoying
I really dislike the way this thing responds to pressing the buttons to dial a number. Very slow response, and you have to push the buttons really hard or they don't "take".Also I dislike the way you have to remember the button sequence for a redial. Which button do you press first? And you have to look to see that you're redialing the right number, since it stores the last several that you've called in a list. (Which may be a privacy concern for some.)Finally, unless you consciously hold the mouthpiece of the phone close to your mouth, your voice will be too soft to the person on the other end. A poor quality microphone, I guess. All in all a disappointing purchase.

The best portable phones evet!
I have been buying the AT&T portable phone series for years (Series 2 and Series 3) because they last a.very long time. I am talking more than 10 years. They are strong (yes In have dropped them on hardwood floors), clear and have a lot of features that are easy to set up I swear.by them.
