Fun purchase!
Got this for my son and he loves it. Not only does it help during the day, but it is a nice bright night light. You can not spin it while it is being lit up, but that is the only thing. It is easy to read and realistic colors.

Beautiful globe!
Got this as a gift for my 7 year old and he was thrilled! He thought it was awesome not being lit up, but it totally blew his mind when we plugged it in. Lol. Its beautiful. I was surprised at how nice it is. A few things to mention: its definitely an elementary school age globe. Its not heavily detailed. There is one spot where the a country is split by the "equator" and at the same time being the area where the globe is put together and the country is split into different colors. Orange above equator and yellow below. Rivers are not labeled. I mean it is for a kid after all. If it falls off a table or onto a hard surface it will probably be pretty damaged. Its not crazy heavy and thick like the old school globes. I love the way it rotates. The colors are really nice. Its exactly as pictured. I got my son a magnifying glass to go with it for 'fun' but you don't really need it to read the globe. Once the light eventually dies on the globe, I doubt you can replace it. Didn't appear to be any obvious way to do that. On the downside, the globe did arrive in a very thin somewhat beat up cardboard box, and the styrofoam surrounding the globe part was thin enough that you could see thru it. (The corner styrofoam piece was thick) I'm glad it didnt get kicked or damaged in any way. My package also got "lost" but ended up arriving. Not sure if it was the sellers fault or not. Overall, I am very happy with it.

Very Good Quality
Purchased for an eleven-year-old. The light can act as a nightlight if you choose. Nice size.I would buy this again. Globes provide a perspective and understanding that maps can’t

Very nice, but „
Very well made, good value but …_ No instructions for commotion of power ( it's at the bottom of pivot ) - Mo AC/DC adapter included.- No internal power storage power wire must be connected for light to work, making rotation clumsy.

Attractive and easy to read. Looks like the picture they have
I always prefer globes to maps - they get rid of that pesky distortion problems. I like playing a couple of geography map games online. Unlike my daughter, who had an international job, I need visual help in finding the countries. This is replaced an older globe that didn't have current countries, plus it's more attractive and looks pretty in my living room. (I still have older atlases with the old country names in them, cuz I'm that type of nerd - I just don't have room for multiple globes!)

Best globe for kids
The Globus world globe is the best because it can swivel in all directions. Now we can see Antarctica or the Arctic easily. Solid base and colorful continents. We love it.

Goplus Desktop World Globe
To answer the second question first, I gifted the globe to my niece and her family so that their children can start learning about the countries of the world and where they are in relation to each other on a globe instead of on a flat map.To answer the first question - likes and dislikes, I like the way it can be turned up to better see countries in the southern hemisphere, and it's colourful - appealing to children, especially with the light on. Two things I didn't like about it however are: (1) Some adjacent countries are coloured so similarly that they could be thought to be all one country. (2) Some place names are too far from the place they identify, for example the name "Great Bear Lake" is adjacent to Coronation Gulf instead of Great Bear Lake.
