I've owned this key holder for a little over a year and a half now and use the crap out of it. I know what you're thinking "just keeping the keys on it doesn't really count as using the crap out of it" and you're right. I do service work for an apartment complex and have to hold 12 different keys on my key ring. I am pulling my keys out dozens of times per day, extending and retracting the cable. I can say, based on using others, this is by a wide margin, the best I've ever owned. The coated metal cable is strong and holds up well to a lot of use and the spring that retracts the cable is strong and keeps the keys close.The down sides (and yes, even with a 5 star review, there are still some down sides). If you're going for a minimalist look, this may not be the one for you. The reel is about 1.5" in diameter (about 40mm). The size is due to the quality of the cable and spring and the length of the cable, not a problem for me but again if you want sleek, not so much. Another less than stellar thing is with webbing that connects the reel to the carabiner clip. It's strong just kind of not pretty. The one side you have the tail of the webbing that is just exposed as opposed to being folded over and hemmed in. Again, for me a service tech, not an issue but just be aware. Finally, and again, this is not enough for me to knock off any stars but it's good to know, over extended use the plastic coating around the cable will begin to crack and when that happens the cable starts to catch when you extend and retract. Then, after more use and abuse, the cable will start to fray. I've actually been able to extend the life of mine by feeding the cable further through the keyring side, making a new knot, and cutting off the 1/2" of damaged cable. This again was due to a lot of usage and it's just what happens over time. Not an issue with the product and I would think that with if you just used it a few times a day, you'd get a few years of use out of each of them.

So I ordered this in order to hold up a mildly heavy box cutter and I got to take it for a spin at work today. It worked out very well. The cord is just long enough to almost do my entire reach. It doesn't sag along with the weight of the box cutter. And it bounced around nicely on my hip. Keeping my box cutter out of harm's way.

These are made very well. I have a whole lot of keys on my keychain and it holds it with only a little bit of slack but I use this for my work keys, which is only about four keys so far so good it’s holding up great gave one to my daughter. She was super excited.

I got this so I wouldn't fumble around to find my keys when I got home from work. A lot easier and safer when it's dark. You won't drop your keys either.

Love these clips!I use one for the house keys on my purse that way I never have to take my keys off my purse. This is nice because I'd have to lose my purse to lose my keys.I used a second one to clip my dog poop bag dispenser to my treat pouch. My bag dispenser has a little flashlight built in and I kept breaking the tiny carabineer that came with it. (I replaced the tiny caribineer like 3 times before I realized I had an extra one of these laying around.) Needless to say, switching the dog poop bag to this clip has been a game changer.
