The pieces are uniquely cut, but they all have the same classic puzzle shape - the sides go in on both sides, and the ends have 2 tips sticking out.There is a poster, but the poster is smaller than the box top! So not very useful.The pieces do not lock together and so don't fit tightly enough to make moving joined sections around as easy as it should be. (Not as well as Ravensburger, Buffalo Games, or Eurographics puzzles.) It uses a white cardboard about the thickness of a Buffalo Games cardboard, so reasonable, but not as tough as Ravensburger.One plus is unlike how most Buffalo Games puzzles seem to have 1 to 3 pieces that are bent, all the pieces in this one were straight. But, I had about 5 pieces that weren't cut thru the whole way and were still joined.Smooth and slick puzzle surface, didn't have anything peel off completely. But I noticed if I run my hand over it to smooth down pieces, about 2 or 3 pieces had the image start to pull up on the edge.Dropped 2 stars because of the lack of variety of puzzle shape and poor poster. However it is very pretty and has vibrant colors. And it is nice that the box feels pretty strong.Overall, it's probably very slightly less quality than a Buffalo Games puzzle. Decent, but not something I'm going to recommend.

The distinct color areas make working this puzzle a breeze. Would be easy to do with more than one as you could each take different color sections. Was a great size for solo working as well

Always a quality brand

The puzzle pieces fit well together; variety of shapes and colors were vibrant. This was a good quality puzzle.

My 8yo son loves rocks and gems, and puzzles! This was perfect for his bday gift. Other reviews mention missing pieces or other anomalies, but my box and pieces were 100% intact ... it's a box of little cardboard pieces that are shaken around, sometimes pieces get pushed a little, it's fine! He and I finished this in about 2hrs, the purple part is tricky with all the amethyst, and the yellows... But the cool thing is that we divided the pieces by colors and then we focused on our piles and merged the sections.If you know someone who loves gemstones, this is perfect, for adults, too! I need to find a 20x20 frame and puzzle glue, he wants to put it on the wall in his room! I highly recommend this... and I'm sorry if you order this and a piece is missing, but we did not have any issues, and I hope you don't either.

This is a beautiful puzzle! Goes together pretty quick and simple. The galison rainbow puzzles are my favorite!

What a fun puzzle! Its nice and sturdy, the pieces fit great and there is something so relaxing about the rainbow design. It's pretty easy because each crystal has a different texture, even if the color is similar, so it goes pretty fast. My husband and I did this over two nights, could probably do it over one but we get tired early, lol!

It's a beautiful puzzle and the quality is great. Son really loved it. Makes a cool decoration.

...AND it comes with an extra colour copy of the image inside, so you don't have to share the box lid!!! PURE GENIUS, why don't other puzzle companies do this!!! I really enjoyed working on it, the pieces were thick and the colours were gorgeous. Would DEFINITELY buy from this company again. And they seem to have more interesting images than a lot of other puzzles too.

Another winner from Galison. The image of the crystals is beyond appealing, especially to those who love rocks and minerals. As usual, the puzzle pieces are thick, sturdy and fit together really well. The poster was most welcome but I would, however, have liked an identification of the crystals to be included.

Beautiful puzzle and the pieces have such a vibrant color! Was fun to do in one sitting especially with all the different textures of the gems. I think this will be a puzzle I do time and time again. :)

I think I loved doing this one more than my husband did, but this was a great puzzle. A bit challenging, but really enjoyed it. Images are very clear, and finished product is really cool !
