Nice little scale!
Needed a little scale to get accurate weights on very small items (jewels/gem stones) and thought I would try this out. Never had such a small scale, just postal scales or larger. This unit is pretty nice, compact and comes ready to go out of the box (just insert the batteries). I don't have a business or daily need for this, so not sure on the durability or longevity - but for my needs (once a couple of weeks at most), this unit is perfect. It's easy to use, has a nice case and even a lid for the scale that helps protect if you leave out of the case for a few days or so. I would recommend this unit for looking to weigh up simple things that don't quite register on consumer postal scales, like little jewels. Would purchase again if lost/stolen/broke/etc. - good little unit. :)

A cut above the others
If you've perused the lab scales on Amazon, you know there are literally thousands of them -- all of them packed with features, and very low priced. Awesome, right? No, not really, because if you've tried a few you've learned that for the most part they're pretty useless. Even models with a gazillion 5 star ratings written by the seller's many close friends can't be trusted, and one is likely to receive a defective unit -- or one so inaccurate that it's effectively useless. So imagine my shock when this scale arrived, and it worked properly. Really, my heart palpated as if I'd found Blackbeard's legendary treasure hidden for centuries in the trunk of my car. I then was stricken with a paroxysm of non-stop ideopathic sneezing, andFearing imminent death or at least loss of composure, I called out to my girlfriend to ready the smelling salts, then I called out to my late wife Elizabeth to let her know I was coming. It was all quite dramatic! Now don't get me wrong. This is not a $10000 lab scale with factory installed telepathic control. Conspicuously absent is the ubiquitous built-in mass spectrometer function. Hell, it won't even calculate the atomic weight of whatever you're weighing. But it does accurately display the weight of your substances within a milligram or two, and that display doesn't keep changing. It's accurate enough for anything one might be using it for at home, it functions properly time after time, and doesn't fail to live up to any advertised promises. This makes it an Amazon superstar, well worth spending a few extra dollars on.

I use this scale to weigh minuscule amounts of ceramic materials for my specialty art glazes.I bought a Smart Weigh GEM20 over 5 years ago. It was supposed to be able to weigh up to 20 grams. I would put this very small cup on it, and tare the scale. The cup weighed 28 grams, but I didn't realize that I was overloading the scale before I even started. I would weigh ingredients up to 20 grams, and the scale worked like a charm for 5 years. And then it broke . . . But it worked for 5 years.I now have the Smart Weigh one that will measure up to 50 grams. It seems like it is built even better than the GEM20. Heavier, more solid. It's impressive.

Far from the worst digital scale I've used
My older digital scale started acting strange, so I bought this one. This one can creep a little and has to be reset somewhat often, but is fairly accurate as long as I keep an eye on it. Going from a beam type to this scale really saves me a lot of time.

Becomes highly inaccurate with usage
I use this to weigh grains of material that area less than 100 grains. I have noticed that this scale becomes highly unstable as it operates. Any operation over about 10 minutes and the scale produces wild results varying 3 to 6 grains at least not tenths, not hundredths, up to 6 grains in error.I tried the recalibration procedure and it states PASS yet I still get the same results. This is not a good instrument.
