2004 Jeep Wrangler, problem fixed!
I recently purchased a 2004 Jeep Wrangler and noticed that the reverse lights did not work/engage. Bulbs were good, but they wouldn't turn on. I replaced this sensor on the transmission and everything works now. Easy install and connected directly to the factory harness.

JUNK! Lasted a month before it failed.
I ordered this when I noticed the backup lights on my 2003 S10 4x4 w/NV3500 transmission stopped working. After confirming it was the backup light switch that failed, I ordered and installed this switch and the backup lights started working again. However, fast forward a month later and suddenly, they're not yet again. I checked the fuse for the backup lights and found it was blown and sure enough, it was due to this switch. Needless to say I decided to go with the OEM AC Delco one to replace this one with, which in hindsight, I probably should have done in the first place. Lesson learned: DO NOT BUY THIS BRAND/MODEL BACKUP LIGHT SWITCH, IT IS GARBAGE AND YOU WILL LIKELY REGRET IT! Apparently, others on S-series truck forums have had similar, if not the same happen like I did too with this exact brand/model switch. Learn from mine, and their mistakes and go with the AC Delco one, you'll likely be thanking me later on that you did.

lights flicker
My reverse lights now work but flickery and only when I release the clutch. Not when in reverse gear but once it engages it finally works.
