Starting off with alphabet review this book then moves on to vowels, sound blends etc. From there it quickly progresses to nouns, verbs and adjectives. The Reading and Writing Skills section is followed by Math Skills. Then it's time to dive into Science. Last but not least is Social Studies.Whilst some of the activities are very easy, many of them are more difficult. The learning ability/level of your child will determine whether they need adult help to complete the fun, colourful and educational activities.This is a GREAT book. Kids will be drawn to it and most likely want to complete the activities without even thinking they are learning at the same time. Whilst too young for her, our daughter has really enjoyed looking through the book completing the activities in her head. I will be sending this to our granddaughter. My daughter (6) is reluctant to practice anything educational with me. I showed her this book and she sat down and we started working on it together. She was having fun while learning for the first time in a long while, and I could feel her releif and confidence returning. Very happy with purchase. Would recommend.

As an educator, I value those summer months when students work on their own to help exercise their brain. Now that I have a child going into first grade, I wanted to try something new. I remember ordering this book even before it was released. Now that my son is using it every day, I LOVE IT! I love the different activities. There have been word scrambles, word puzzles, cutting and pasting, riddles, syllables, letter recognition with words...and the list goes on. We are only on page 31 in the workbook and he loves doing it already! My son is even able to read the directions by himself. This was a great buy and look forward to buying the different levels for him and his brother!
